Centre Pompidou was established in 1977 at the request of the president Pompidou and there was a lot of controversy about the architecture but it is now accepted as a beautiful building by many. There are both temporary exhibitions, like Andre Derain this time and...More

Perfect place. I've been to 20+ modern art museums around the world, and so far this is the best one.

I just visited the museum on the top floor which had an excellent array of exhibits to see. The building itself is an interesting example of architecture.

This temporary show focuses on an incredibly fertile decade in the artistic career of Derain. Using a chronological approach the well presented exhibition displays the fast changes in style and focus of Derain.

It takes ages to get inside the actual museum. Biggest tip I can give is to buy your tickets online. The line is MUCH shorter. Beware it's better to print them out before visiting.
