- UbuntuProvince of Badajoz, Spain6,071 contributionsThe most beautiful and longest in ParisThe most beautiful and longest bridge in Paris. In 1896, the construction of this bridge began, replacing a suspension bridge and linking the esplanade of Les Invalides with the Grand and Petit Palace and close to the Champs Elysées. It symbolizes the Franco-Russian alliance. And it is the longest bridge in Paris at 110 meters. It has a single arch and the ornaments are counterweights. Large place to take beautiful photos of the area, and the Eiffel Tower.Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 18 February 2024

- DéboraNiteroi, RJ231 contributionsGreat for photosIt is one of the most beautiful bridges over the River Seine. Very pleasant to cross it and take beautiful photos. The look is perfect for photos. It's also interesting to take the boat trip on the Seine that tells the story of the bridges, so when we cross them the trip becomes even richer.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 12 April 2024

- Eugenie90 contributionsthe mythical bridge of ParisThe Pont Alexandre III is undoubtedly a mythical place of Paris , crossing the Pont Alexandre III is an unforgettable visual experience. From this bridge, the panoramic view of some of the biggest monuments in Paris is simply breathtaking. On one side, you have the majesty of the Invalides with its golden dome, and on the other, the elegant silhouette of the Eiffel Tower.Visited April 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 9 August 2024

- DanyEarthParis, France33,079 contributionsPont Alexandre III , A Major Work of the 1900 World's FairThe Pont Alxandre III is located between the Invalides left bank and the Grand Palais right bank. It honors Tsar Alexander III of Russia (1845-1894) , who was one of the prestigious guests of the 1900 World's Fair. This 45 m wide bridge, which is of exceptional beauty, was built in 1893 with metal elements. It crosses the Seine with a single 107-metre arch comprising three articulation points, with no intermediate support point. It relies on very massive abutments (44 m wide and 30 m thick), to resist the enormous horizontal thrust of the low arch. These abutments are pierced by two stone tunnels for the circulation of the bank. The decoration of the bridge , which is described as "exuberant", uses four pylons at the corners , bearing gilded bronze equestrian groups representing the famous (art , science , combat and war ) . The apron and parapet bear decorations and allegorical characters , in bronze color brown with golden highlights of the most beautiful effect. The characters are related to water , with 32 1900-style lampposts , and angels riding dolphins . On the apron on each side , a large nymph carrying the victory torch , represents the Saint Petersburg Neva , on the upstream side and the Seine , on the downstream side . Throughout the apron , one can observe a succession of masks and garlands , which complete the very abundant decoration of this building . On the other hand, at the foot of each tower , the creators symbolized , with stone sculptures , medieval France on the upstream right bank , Renaissance France on the upstream left bank , France under Louis XIV on the downstream left bank , and finally , Modern France on the downstream right bank . I pass quite often on this bridge and I never tire of admiring it so exceptional in nature by the creativity it embodies and its flamboyant style!!Visited July 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 2 September 2024
- PierreBriereSaint-Joachim, France9,885 contributionsSymbol of the Franco-Russian UnionLocated between the Pont de la Concorde (upstream) and the Pont des Invalides (downstream), it connects the Petit and Grand Palais to the Invalides. The first stone dates from October 7, 1896, in the presence of the Emperor of Russia (1894-1917) Nicholas II, son of Alexander III (1881-1894). It was built for the 1900 World's Fair, as a single 107 m arch with 2 x 2 pylons bearing fame (allegorical deities), accompanied by nymphs (the Seine and the Neva) and many candelabra.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 3 September 2024

We couldn't stop taking photos - the Seine views are incredible, and the Eiffel Tower backdrop is perfect for couples' shots. Got some amazing evening pictures when all the lights came on. This bridge, inaugurated in 1900 for the World’s Fair, symbolizes Franco-Russian friendship, in tribute to Tsar Alexander III. Its golden statues and sculptures make it a masterpiece of Art Nouveau. It connects Les Invalides to the Champs-Élysées, offering magnificent views of the Seine and Parisian monuments.Visited November 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 14 November 2024

Pont Alexandre III in Paris is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful bridges in the city and an impressive example of Belle Époque architecture. We were particularly impressed by the detailed decorations: the golden statues, ornate lanterns and filigree reliefs give the bridge a unique character.
The bridge offers magnificent views of the Seine and iconic landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and Les Invalides. This place invites you to stop and enjoy the atmosphere of the city to the fullest. Especially in the evening hours, when the lights of Paris reflect, the bridge works almost magically.
What we particularly liked is the balance between functionality and beauty: The Pont Alexandre III is not only a landmark, but also a vibrant part of the city, over which people stroll daily and cyclists and cars travel.
Overall, the bridge is an absolute must-visit when visiting Paris – elegant, steeped in history and photogenic, without appearing cluttered or ostentatious. A place where you can feel how art and architecture bridge the gap between past and present.

Spend some time looking at this marvel of engineering and design on one of your Paris walks. It's a great place to watch people and hear languages from all over the world. Wedding portraits, wedding day pictures, photo shoots, tourists taking photos or waving at boats passing below...It's a happening place to spend some time. It's also a great vantage point from which to take pics of the Eiffel Tower or watch it twinkle on the hour starting at 7:00 pm. The light display lasts 5 minutes and is surely worth a 1 minute video to the home as a souvenir.

This beautiful bridge crosses the Seine River. It was declared a Historical Monument in 1975 and a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999. Construction began in 1896 and it is an exponent of French architecture. It is adorned with 32 bronze lanterns, garlands, golden statues and large lions. It is without a doubt the most beautiful in the city.

It was really cool to see this great work of art, so representative of France and Paris especially. We arrived by chance and already noticed the sumptuousness. We walked along the banks of the River Seine from Place de la Concorde and the Egyptian obelisk and came across this fantastic image.

I had it written down as a good bridge to take photos from afar to the tower. I found the bridge closed by the Olympic games, but it didn’t seem like much vs the other dozens of bridges, beyond that it is a little longer than the rest and has golden statues, and the tower looked far away... I don’t see it as an Attraction, better the Lena Bridge that is in front of the tower.

Somehow having missed this bridge on previous visits, we made a point to visit it this time around and I am glad that we did
The bridge itself is very beautiful and offers great vistas over Seine. However the best part is after sunset when the bridge lights up and you can see lighted Eiffel as well from it. Worth visiting just for it even if you are not fan of architecture or history

My favorite place to see the Eiffel Tower in Paris! Plan to arrive just before dusk so you can see the beautiful bridge in daylight and watch the bridge and the Eiffel Tower as the sun sets, it becomes dark and the lights come on! It is breathtakingly beautiful! Then at the top of the hour, the Eiffel Tower twinkles at night. ( To help with climate issues, France now limits the number of twinkle light shows each night. Check online to make sure you do not miss it)
You will get wonderful photos of the bridge and the Eiffel Tower with all the different changes of lighting. It is a must see if you visit Paris for the first time or anytime you visit Paris!

Extravagant structure spanning the river Seine with most noticeable gilded bronze statues of Fames, each restraining Pegasus, on tall pedestals. On the left bank the Pegasus is being restrained by the Fame of Commerce and the Fame of Industry, on right bank by the Fame of the Sciences and the Fame of the Arts. A beautiful bridge from above and below.

Hello, is there a nice restaurant near the seine that we can sit, eat, and enjoy the bridge view?
Written 28 May 2015
I do believe there is a river boat restaurant underneath. But there are none near the bridge itself. Not a place to have a meal anyway - too busy and noisy with traffic.
Written 29 May 2015
Are there any attractions nearby to couple with this one during the visit?
Written 24 March 2015
It is really close to Champs Élysées. When we went in December the Xmas markets were a block away on the Champs Élysées.
We caught the train to Arc De Triomphe, climbed to the top for the spectacular view over Paris, then walked down the Champs Élysées and window shopped then made our way to the Xmas markets. Walked over Ponte Alexandre and watched the lights sparkle on the Eiffel Tower before catching the train back to our hotel.

i assume you want to make a reservation for an hotel near the pont alexander..? if yes, i reccoment hotel jardins de l eiffel rue amelie. it is a very comfortable hotel, near rue st dominique with shops and boutiques of a real neighborhood and rue clair where you have every conceivable delicious food shopping you can dream of. the price is right for the quality. it is near the invalides, the champs elyses, the petit and grand palais and a subway ride to the louvre (or a nice walk along the Seine).
if you are talking about the bridge, it is not for rent. hope this hep

Hallo.
