Neighbourhood: Bercy / Nation
Nestled between the Seine, Bastille, and Père Lachaise lies a peaceful side of town where wide avenues and impressive buildings accompany green spaces and small parks. Landscaped havens are plentiful, from the Bercy Park to La Coulée Verte and most impressively the Bois de Vincennes, which even contains a medieval castle on its doorstep. For an escape from the masses head to this calming neighbourhood where real Parisians make their homes.

I love this place, the simple genuine atmosphere, the people and the crowd.
Ah. And the wine of course.
Worth a visit in any season.

Visited here a couple of times and each time we enjoyed it enormously. FULL of atmosphere and joie de vivre, everything - from the selection of wines and foods (platters of oysters, cheeses, charcuterie etc.), to the patient service and cosy/rustic interior - was wonderful. Located near the market, it's the perfect place to chill with friends. This is MY Paris at its most evocative - love it to bits!

There is nothing pretentious about Le Baron Rouge. Wine barrels aka tonneaux double as tables and there is a remarkable variety of wines to taste.
Also cheese and charcuterie are available for purchase.
The bartenders are extremely helpful.

With a great selection of white, red or rose, natural and sparkling wines . This place is always full of locals and some tourist. The prices are very reasonable . You can have cheese or charcuterie or try their fresh oysters ( check in advance) owner Christian is always there and can recommend the best wines. You can also buy a bottle or even buy at a better price to go

Taken by a local guide and such a nice cosy place full of locals. Impressive selection of wine and people behind the counter were very patient while we were trying to figure out which wine each of us liked.

Only the thing is toilet is very old fashioned squatting type and through the backdoor to outside in the court yard. Not one if you have any problem bending down.

Typically french tro...not much space...but the french vibe of being outside smoking and inside oysters, wine & paté give it a distinct "Français" feel. Staff fun and hard-working :)

It was during my second visit to Paris. On a cold winter Sunday morning we went to Baron Rouge to maintain old tradition parisienne to eat oysters and drink white wine. It is an old style must visit bar with incredibly fresh oysters 2 euros per piece, delicious fish paté and great selection of wines. At midday there was already a happy crowd of local parisiennes and some tourist fellows... everyone excited tasting gourmet specialities, talking and drinking. I enjoyed a lot the food and the atmosphere!

A must stop by Marche Aligre. Filled with locals and tourists in the know. Great selection of wines, charcuterie, cheese boards. Mostly standing room only with a very few small tables. Stand at counter or around wine barrels. Friendly service. Fresh oysters on weekends outside on sidewalk. Quite a treat.

What a great little spot for a fun, non-pretentious apéro with friends. Apéro ended lasting hours as we enjoyed being crammed into the little corner table tremendously. Wine was very affordable, tastings offered, little planches of charcuterie and fromage could be ordered at the bar. The squat toilet outside just added to the fun of the evening.
