Located in the Marais district, this authentic jazz club delivers real jazz for a decent price. The neighborhood is great for exploring after the show. It's the Soho of Paris. So cool. Enjoy!

The Sunset has one of the best program in town artists-wise. There is no denying it, the best have played there. The 2 rooms are busy every night with 2 concerts at the same time. It's very typical of the jazz clubs in Paris, with packed seats and variable visibility, but it's mostly ok and, once again, the music is... More

Went to this club ( just a few doors away from the Duc des Lombards) to see a trio perfomance. Excellent vibe and sound but go in early to get a good seat - it is quite tightly set out. Waitress/ floor manager/ usher person quite amazing, juggling with drinks orders, directions, payments, seating help and the like and remembering... More

On kind of a whim we decided to go to a show one night while in Paris. We had just been to see Kevin Ahart in the Herb Alpert's Jazz Club in LA and decided to try a jazz club in Paris. Our little boutique hotel happened to have the show listings for the Sunset Sunside Club and we decided... More

The place for jazz in Paris! I visited here and listened to some excellent jazz music. Downstairs plays host to famous international performers, I saw Craig Handy doing a tribute to Dexter Gordon. Upstairs you'll find top-notch local musicians burning! If you're a jazz fan, this is where you want to be in Paris.

I enjoyed my time at Sunset sunside. They have different jazz troupes almost every other night. Try to get there early so you can get a seat in the front; it's a small venue and can fill up quickly. A nice alternative to a dance club!

Some pre-trip internet research indicated that a jazz menouche (gypsy jazz) band was scheduled to play a tribute to Django Reinhardt during our stay in Paris, so I booked two tickets about a week before the trip. I was a little concerned about giving credit card info to a venue to which I have never been but there were no... More

We went to hear the Al Cohn / Zoot Sims Tribute gig, featuring Ivan Baldet & Michael Cheret in the Sunset, which is the downstairs venue. We had to wait in the street for a while for the previous gig to finish, which was not particularly pleasant on a Friday night surrounded by loud beer drinkers. They have some weird... More

As the name implies, this is a two-venue spot - Sunside is the ground-level Jazz spot and Sunset is the basement venue. This is a review of the Sunside. We went to hear the Olivier Hutman Trio, which played to a full house. As for most such Paris venues, we were packed like sardines, but it was not uncomfortable. Most... More

Staying in Les Halles

Neighbourhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
