About
This jazz bar wasn't always known for its smooth jazz acts: boogie-loving GIs frequented its cool, smoky interiors during World War II.

Cool experience! Felt like traveling back in time.
Such a fun night. Felt like I traveled back in time for some jazz, rock fusion music. It’s hot downstairs so be prepared! Great crowd. Great musicians. I don’t know how I’d rate the place without the band that was performing, but isn’t that the whole point….

    Absolutely amazing
Hot, sweaty, loud jazz music and it was absolutely amazing. Such a great experience and a great place to have a dance. The music was incredible and the entire vibe and atmosphere was great. I would certainly reccomend to anyone who likes jazz and a dance.

    Best night in Paris
Wow this jazz club is amazing and I’ve only found something like this is Paris. This is a must visit for anyone coming to Paris; we had an amazing night (and a Sunday night!!). I was a reluctant entrant to be honest and it was one of the best nights I’ve had. Opens at 9pm; the band we saw did 3 sets 9.30; 11 and 12.30. It’s €14 to enter but the band is worth it; it’s a quirky little basement with that gets very busy and lots of dancing. I watched mostly but many people dance and the band were incredible. Even if you aren’t a huge jazz fan it’s a great fun night. Must do.

A great evening out in Paris!
One of the best nighttime experiences in Paris. The underground cave venue has so much character, it felt like walking into a different time. The music was phenomenal, the drinks were great and the staff were very friendly.

Tremendous experience listening to live jazz in ancient Parisian cellar with great drinks and a convivial atmosphere.

The music was Boogie and there were people dancing. A lot of fun! Very low key and easy going place. Great music and fun ambiance!

We had visited here a few years back on our last trip to Paris. Had a great time and great music so decided to go again this time . Unfortunately this time disappointed as it was packed like sardines and could not move an inch , a waiting line a mile long no matter which set .. we tried two night also in the middle of the week . The one time we did get in - the music was great . But then Again hard to enjoy

Historically Jazz club with a twist. This club is known for its Paris Jazz which is different than US-based Jazz. A good experience, though.

I went there for a night out with my friends and didn’t leave immediately only because we paid 16€ to get in…
We didn’t even get the chance to hear the live jazz band, as it was impossible to go downstairs because of the crowd. We decided to get at least a drink, and the experience was as unconfortable: forgotten orders, loud groups of tourists trying to seduce the bartender, drunk customers hitting our table as we were trying to finish our foamless beer…
In addition to this chaotic environment, all the club smelled like mold despite their vane effort to cover it with incense…
I’m really disappointed in the Caveau, which should be a Paris statement club but ended up being one of the worst night bars I’ve been in this city!

Tourist trap. Was hoping for a jazz bar, got a cabaret version of one. Music was ok, everything else was not.
Left after 15 minutes, 45€ down.
