This little island just behind Notre Dame takes you away from the traffic and noise of Paris and let's you walk down cobblestone streets filled with cafés and shops.
A charming, upscale little neighborhood -- an island in the Seine River -- with centuries-old buildings, inviting boutiques selling everything from gourmet cheeses to one of a kind jewelry, and ice cream shops on every corner.
Specialty shops galore, wonderful food, and great views. Make some time to visit this area. The offerings for all thing Paris are plentiful.
This is the real Paris...the Hollywood Paris of the French Dream...the Parisian glory as pictured in American movies of the 1970th...Marlon Brando, Alain Delon, Belmondo...a pleasure to stroll through...take your time.
Although the area around Notre Dame is tourist central, the rest of the small island is quiet and worth a walk around. Lovely scenery and some nice places to stop for a drink or bite to eat.
