Address
Neighbourhood: Champs-Élysées
This area is characterized by its namesake avenue which extends northwest from the Louvre to the modern business district, punctuated by the iconic Arc de Triomphe. Grand embassies stand among impressive offices and presidential palaces; architecture from 19th century Universal Exhibitions, homes, art galleries, and 19th century streets designed by Baron Haussmann flank haute-couture boutiques. This neighborhood never rests, buzzing with visitors from around the world at all times of day and night, all within a stone's throw of the Seine.

Great place for recreation, relaxation and shopping
Great boulevard stretch that covers span of signature and luxury shops , fast food and fine dining restaurants, lined with trees and a backdrop of the Arc of Triumph. Human flow is very much evident. Must see in Paris.

    So so busy
Famous the world over and full of tourists during the day. High end shops mainly with over-priced cafes touting for your trade. Many better true parisian streets are a few minutes walk away.

Wide, Grand, and Full of Traffic
This wide boulevard can look grand from the top of the arch. And for Christmas, it is well-decorated with harmonious lights. Also the HQ of big parades and celebrations. But the stores and office buildings along it are just not all that interesting. Plus the loud traffic can be daunting. Well, it used to be worse when there were huge car parks all along.

    Beautiful Store and Experience
This was the one store I wanted to visit in Paris on the Champs de Elysee. It did not disappoint. The service was excellent and the store is so pretty. I bought my perfume and it was beautifully packaged and I received a few perfume samples.

    Worth the Visit
This is a huge shopping district filled with so many of the ritzy, hi-end named stores. The large façade of the YVL store is worth checking out. There are many patisseries and cafés to stop and enjoy treats, tea, coffee, etc. So many tourists here too, and many need to be respectful, rather than typical. Stepping out into the street to get “the perfect pic” and such foolishness. Overall, it’s worth doing and checking out!

"Champs-Élysées is a bustling street known for its shops and cafes. We enjoyed window shopping and walking down towards the Arc de Triomphe. It can be quite crowded, but it’s part of the Paris experience. - Anna Thompson"

    Champs Elysees
One of the most iconic strolls you can go for in the whole world. You have everything: from the Arc de Triomphe on one end and the Place de la Concorde on the other, to beautiful boutiques and cafes, a park and magnificent architecture and culture in between. Set aside one hour for the entire walk and window-shopping. Add a couple more if you are planning on visiting Le Petit Palais, which is free.

Bustling with shops and Olympic games decors
12 years ago I walked Champs-Elysees from Place de la Concorde to Arc de Triomphe. First bit was a beautiful park and second bit was shops with many walk-in galleries and stuff. This year I walked the other way around and it got slightly worse - it starts with some construction works by the Arc and all galleries were gone, only shops and cafes remained. Visited some and attention you get as a customer varies. Once you reach Grand Palais and the park, you have to cross the road couple times coz of various leftovers (podiums and stages) after Olympic games. It didn’t have the vibe it had those long years ago…

It seem a waste of time to walk down this street if you were not interested in expensive things. Surprisingly, there is a lot of things to absorb. We spent an afternoon walked from The Arc, through the placid de Concord, the Jardin des Tuileries, to the front of the Louvre museum. We did stop at McDonald and the Renault Store for breaks.

Unfortunately, it was raining the day we were walking around this area so we found it to be just another large shopping area. We did stop for a delicious lunch at an open air cafe and it was great for people watching. Wear comfy shoes....so many women were wearing their high heels and you could see they wished they were in comfy's instead.

This is the street to visit if you’re a high end shopper or just want to see the sights. Plenty of shops and restaurants to enjoy. There are also some affordable stores on the strip after H&M sued the city to open a store and won.

Champs Elysees is for sure the most famous street in Paris. It streches from the Triumph Arch down to Place Concorde. Along the way there're many famous and historic shops and restaurants. The avenue is crowded from early morning till late night.
At night it receives a special look when all lit, and by far the best one is around Christmas, all decorated, when we visited this time.
Due to high popularity and history, cafes and restaurants here are extremely expensive, so choose another place for dining and shopping which Paris has plenty of.
TIP: best view of entire Champs is from the top of Arc de Triumphe.

Undoubtedly the most famous avenue in Paris, this nearly 2 km stretch from Arc de Triomphe to the Place de la Concorde, lined by serene parks and exclusive shops and department stores, is a must-stroll whenever you’re in Paris. With all the exclusive retailers that you can think of setting up their flagship stores here, it is no surprised that this street is also one of the most expensive address in the world. If walking is a challenge and the crowds spook you, then hopping onto the Big Bus is also a viable way of appreciating the grandeur of this avenue. And remember to tune up Joe Dassin’s Les Champs-Elysees on your Spotify to create the vibe of this world famous avenue.

Walking towards the Arc de Triumph along the boulevard on a cold winter noon was a great feeling. Napoleon has build those wide boulevards and you are not feeling pushed by the buildings around.

Take an hour to walk it up and down and have your break at the Arc.

Bon voyage!

If this street was kept cleaner and more had less common shops and more fancy boutiques, it would live up to it's reputation a bit more. However as it is, it carries a sense of charm and being within sight of the Arc de Triomphe it is very dignified. The avenue was quite crowded in the evening and there was a lot of cigarette smoke around.
Overall, this is a street with a picturesque view and still carries some class and elegance.

We walked several times as our hotel was nearby. Our first walk was nice as it was all new to us . The Arc de Triomphe is beautiful and majestic .
We’ll worth the walk.
The avenue in general has a less than grand feel. There are women laying on the sidewalks holding out cups for coins. Very sad and while I don’t know for sure, it’s very suspicious that someone placed them there. There are the occasional street “ shows” that are found on large city streets.
The trees and buildings lining the street are beautiful. I’m sure the apartments are VERY expensive and I doubt the residents appreciate if all the activities lining the grand avenue.
The cafes are all about average as well as McDonalds and Five guys which did not lend to the atmosphere.
I would do it once and that’s it!.

Walking the Champs-Élysées is a tourist box checking exercise. You do it just to say you did it. Get a great photo of the Arc de Triomphe and then do something interesting. The street is filled with overpriced cafes, shopping chains, vagrants, and raucous teens. Do you really need to go all the way to Paris to visit the Apple store or Sephora? Maybe you’ll be lucky enough to find the street entirely blocked off due to protests.

There is one good time to visit and that is the first Sunday of every month when the street is closed to vehicle traffic. Crowds can spread out into the street and have a lovely stroll. Definitely go if you are here on a first Sunday.

We stayed in a very nice flat in Paris near the Champs-Elysees. This area in Paris is not very cheap, you can find department stores with the best brands. Dining out in this area is not cheap either but it is worth it. Walking around here is an attraction of the city, watching the sunrise from our room window was a great luxury.
