Saint Severin was just down the street from our hotel (Hotel Europe Saint Severin) in the Latin Quarter and thus it made it easy to get to. A well worn exterior, like most you'll see in Paris given the age it was built, gives way...More
I recommend visiting this church if you are in the Latin Quarter. Stain glass panels have vivid colors and are exquisite. Very quiet and peaceful. A great place for a respite. Late afternoon sun will dilute the impact of the stain glass work on the...More
A wonderful church in a fabulous neighborhood in a beautiful city. That should be enough. Still, there is something special about the St. Severin: it is majestic to be sure but intimate and down to earth at the same time. It fits in so well...More
Just happened upon this church while walking around Paris. I noticed the gargoyles and decided to take a closer look. Architecture of this church is fantastic both inside and out. Some of the nicest stained glass I've ever seen. Highly recommend.
Don't overlook Saint-Severin. It is a beautiful Gothic church and is one of the oldest in Paris. It will not be crowded. There is a wonderful warmth and brightness to the interior and the stained glass is superb. Everyone really has to go see Notre...More
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this
area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighbourhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
