We found this unique piece of history nearby the Pantheon. I recommend spending sometime there. The Latin Quarter is nearby as well. It was a hidden jewel which distinguished itself from all other churches.
Steeped in Parisian history it houses the tomb of St Genevieve. Visitiors to the Pantheon nearby should make sure to visit this old church to enjoy the architecture, pulpit and windows and a wonderful peaceful spirtitual atmosphere.
Near the Pantheon, St. Etienne is a unique church. It features a screen, which distinguishes it from other churches. Highly recommend a quick visit just to see the unique architecture.
This church was next to the Pantheon. I had visited Paris a few times before but I had never read anything about this church. It is pretty small and we saw it by accident and decided to walk in. It was stunning. So small yet...More
We stumbled on to this gem by accident after visiting the Pantheon directly across the road. It has a beautiful interior, and contains the shrine of St. Geneviève, the patron saint of Paris. The church also contains the tombs of Blaise Pascal.
Wonderful church tucked in behind the Pantheon...St. Etienne du Mont has classic Gothic architecture, beautiful spires, huge doorways, stained glass windows, bell tower, and gargoyles. A quintessential Français eglisé. Magnifique!
Wandering through the streets behind the Panthéon, we came across this wonderfully peaceful, light-filled church. Few visitors, so plenty of time to sit and enjoy. Worth the visit!
