Is it even possible to stroll anywhere in Paris any more? So many security patrols made me feel very very nervous. And the trinket sellers harassing.... Lots of homeless people living along here- not offensive at all but I cried for fear FOR them- families trying to survive on the streets in one of europes richest cities. Shame

The River Seine is central to everything Parisian, and is beautiful and elegant. Her banks are kept immaculately clean and uncluttered. The bridges each have their own story. Pont Neuf is the bridge that is home to all the lovers locks, which is central to the romance of the city. Night cruises are available with guides who alternate between French... More

This should be one of the first things a new visitor to Paris should do to get a sense of where the main monuments of Paris are without having to worry about traffic. A round trip cruise that starts near the Eiffel Tower takes you down past Notre Dame Cathedral and back again. It's good to just sit back and... More

We visited the Eiffel tower and then embarked on a cruise along the river Seine. It offered us breathtaking views of the Eiffel Tower and the life passing by in the city of Paris. Dinner onboard the cruise was authentic French which we loved a lot. Would come back any day for the amazing experience.

Beautiful cobblestone walk all along the river. Quite uneven paths so if you are delivatw on your feet I suggest using the pavements instead of going down the steps onto the main River path. All along the river there are all sorts of amazing cafes and bars with all french cuisine but personally nothing beats a nutella and banana crèpe... More

We did a lunch cruise one of the days we were in Paris and it was awesome. The food was very good and the wine never stopped flowing. A must do tour.

Took a night cruise on the Seine. Definitely an experience to have (especially at night after you have seen all the "go to places" during the day. Either take a normal boat cruise and soak it in, or the cruise with a meal is also nice.

We took a round trip from the eiffel tower for 15EUR pp and simple enjoyed each moment. We sat on the deck and saw all the major highlights of the city along the river. An audio recording helped us identify all the attractions. It was an hour long trip and before entering the boat, the staff took our pictures, which... More

We got our tickets from the Pont Neuf quai and received a reduction as we had visited the Sainte Chapelle. It was a bit cold on the top deck but lovely below stairs and the commentary in two languages was superb

Staying in Les Halles

Neighbourhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
