A guided boat tour on the River was well worth the time to enjoy and appreciate the history along the way.

Make sure to catch one of the riverboat tours. There are some that offer meals and others that are just a tour! i think the meal would have been lovely!

We enjoyed our evening sightseeing tour on the river. Also during the day the boats can drop you off near different attractions. It is a great way to see many famous attractions in Paris. During the day the river has many boats parked along the side that are interesting to look at. A fun ride on the river!!

Pick a sunny day while in Paris and walk along the river Seine. They have a paved area for much of the river. You'll go up and down a few stairs, but it's not strenuous. You'll pass boats that are docked or moving down the river. You'll be able to browse artists who are selling their creations. You'll see couples... More

So beautiful - we walked it on both sides, walked over the lock bridge. Weather was not great for most of our visit so a lot of the art vendors weren't out until late in our visit and we were able to snag some oil paintings and bring them home. Next time we go we will do a boat ride.

This is the river where Javert from Les Miserables threw himself in! At any rate, the River Seine is the heartbeat of Paris. You can stroll along the banks by foot, or choose to go on the one-hour river cruise or dinner cruise. We took the one hour narrated tour. It is a good way to see the historic buildings... More

This is a must do trip if you are in Paris. Walk along the River by the Ile de la Cite past the Notre Dame. Catch a Batobus which will take you up or down river to get a different view of the landscape as far as the Eiffel Tour.

Since almost all major attractions are within a stone's throw of the Seine River, you couldn't possibly miss it, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't specifically set aside time for a long, leisurely stroll along it's banks or float down an a touristy river cruise. My favorite areas to walk along are near the Ile de Cite and Notre Dame,... More

Staying in Les Halles

Neighbourhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
