The grounds and architecture are amazing. The World Wars Exhibits are very well done and the collection of artifacts, uniforms, firearms and photos are the best I have ever seen in a military museum. Learned a lot about French President DeGaulle he was a true leader and gave his country hope.Thank God though for the USA to come and save Europe from Hitler. Also in France they are very proud of Napoleon and his tomb is only dwarfed by the Pyramids in Egypt. .

The building is so beautiful and Napoleon's tomb is incredible. Your pictures won't fully capture it! It's also a military museum so there's a lot more to see than just the tomb. I strongly recommend you set aside more time than you think to fully explore. The only section we were not a fan of was the interactive digital exhibit for Charles de Gaulle. It felt overwhelming and hard to read everything with so much going on.

I have spent much of my childhood in Paris and also travelled frequently as an adult yet I had never seen Napolean’s tomb. The museum was closed until 1400 hours due to Macron having a special event but once inside the queue was quite reasonable. I had the opportunity to visit musée de l’armee but due to spending 3 hours in the area waiting for the museum to open, I opted to go straight to Les Invalides. As I walked in, I was in utter awe of the beauty and power of the space. It was opulent, classically stunning and just had an amazing presence to it. The gold, the design the workmanship was truly a sight to behold and I was blown away. It exceeded any expectations that I had. The next time I am back in Paris, I shall visit the museum.

This was the best thing we saw in Paris. Endless things to see. The Dome and tomb were spectacular. The museum was superb. The bit about Napoleon in the museum kept going. Great if you have family who have an interest in it. You get to the end of one section and there is another huge section to look at.

The army museum is part of Les Invalides, France’s monument to France’s military history. The most famous thing here is Napoleon’s tomb, but the museum of the army is immense. There are different galleries for pre-Napoleonic battles, the Napoleonic wars, and the World Wars. They are filled with weapons and uniforms and paintings and even Napoleon’s horse. There are some terrific short battle animations that explain key battles in French campaigns. If you tried to read, watch and view everything here, it would take a week. Even walking through and reading overviews and watching the animations took hours. There’s so much here but if you’re visiting, stick to the subject of most interest.

The museum is best known to many as the final resting place of Napoleon Bonaparte and his tomb is very impressive and although it’s the biggest draw there is so much more to see. France’s military history through the ages is on full display here. Definitely worth a visit but allow some time it’s massive.

We booked timed tickets one month in advance for the Army Museum and Chapel Dome (Napolean’s Tomb), and added on additional ticket costs for the Special Exhibit “Duels: The Art of Fighting” and audio guides. The museum is massive, and our self-guided experience took nearly 3 hours. The museum is wonderful, but you cannot be in a hurry. We found some of the directional signage to be confusing, restrooms are hard to find, some elevators were not functioning so you need to be able to climb steps. We never actually found the right place to get audio guides we paid for, and we eventually gave up after asking for help three times. The army museum had signage in English and French, but the special Duels exhibit signage was all in French and there are no audio guides at the exhibit entrance that we paid for.. Definitely recommend for history lovers in the World War I and World War II sections, and the chapel dome (Napolean’s Tomb) is spectacular.

To our surprise, this was one of our favorite museums in Paris. The memorial in honor of Napoleon and family members is quite a series of sights, along with a chapel that features flags dating hundreds of years ago. There are collections of armor from around the world, canons, and much more. In addition, the gardens are gorgeous, and the views of nearby parts of Paris (including the Eiffel Tower) also should not be missed. I absolutely would recommended visiting Musee de l’Armee des Invalides.

It’s a very large display of French military history broken down into periods. Tickets were 15 euro. If you’re a fan of military history this is a good place to tour. Napoleon’s tomb is in the basilica, near the ticket booth, and that was worth seeing. A lot of the displays did not have English language descriptions. I didn’t use the audio tour, so you may want that.

Hotel des Invalides had a pretty nice square upon entering the building, with a chapel at the other end. Napoleon's tomb is at the very back of the museum and will need to be accessed through the back. When entering the tomb, each corner has interesting tombs as well, while Napoleon's tombs can be viewed from above, the lower view can be accessed through the back of the shrine through a staircase. Also don't forget Napoleon II's tomb tucked at the very end of the lower platform. There's also an Angelina pastry branch for a snack break!
