Good bakery, but it definitely does not make the best sourdough bread in the world

Love this quaint Parisian bakery where their small storefront allows a buzz with eager shoppers in for their "Poilane Fix". Ours is the Rye Raisin Buns... nothing compares. Thanks to Martha Stewart for letting us on to this shop all those years ago. Highly recommend.

Poilane makes a legendary sourdough bread. While its Poilâne's sourdough is good, I would prefer a baguette any day. What I love about Poilane are its punitions (butter cookies), which are available from light to dark baking. The dark ones are excellent.

I followed google maps to get here and was looking forward to a hot croissant and coffee. The coffee was delicious but the croissant I didn't enjoy whatsoever. I took it with me and didn't finish it. There are definitely hit and miss croissant places...More

Our hotel in Paris is a short walk to Poilane. Every day we first stop for coffee then head to Poilane for warm croissants and pain au chocolate. The croissants are like eating flaky butter. They are so delicious. They are known for their rustic...More

This lovely elegant and artisanal French bakery is worth a detour. Did you know it supplies many restaurants with its famous sour-dough bread? Don't forget to try the raisin buns. You'll definitely come back for more.

That sells a few key items. The sour dough is legendary. They sell it in slices and by weight. You can also buy their flour.

If we're staying on our own and not with friends, here's where we get our bread. You don't want to miss the raisin rolls. Whatever you do, however, get a bag or two of the sale de mer to take home with you. It's cheap...More

Stopped by in the morning to pick up some pastries and had two different varieties of apple pastry. Both were excellent and I will make it a point to go back again when in Paris. I've tried a lot of Parisian boulangeries over the years...More

Popular and known. Fresh and very good. Attentive staff and I get the impression they work hard. If in the area a good bakery to pick up your choice to eat and stroll.
