I am a chocolate lover, I adore chocolate. I wanted to visit this shop because it is the oldest chocolate shop in Paris and, of course, to buy chocolates. I chose the chocolates myself rather than buying a ready-filled box. The shop is a lovely...More

One of the very best chocolatier in Paris. Debauve & Gallais has a classic (and classy) style. No fancy mixtures, and yes less creative than Patrick Roger or Hermé, but chocolate is of true highest quality. Excellent pralinés too, usually not too sweet. A must.

Admittedly, I may be biased. About a decade ago I did extensive web research to find out what the finest truffles on earth were. I wanted to do a spectacular gift for my wife and I consulted numerous sites and blogs (I think there were...More

In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic
and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is
dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops,
ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants.
Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine
art school and small museums hide in unassuming
squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the
oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented
