This is a lovely square with is centre piece, a bronze column dedicated to a victorious battle, of Napoleons. The square has some very posh shops and home to the ritz, its all about the location, a very posh end of town.

Started as a monument in the 17th century for Louis XVI’s army. The column was about 100 years later under Napolean’s direction

Now it’s a nice site surrounded by uber luxury brands like LV, Chanel, Cartier, Hublot et al

What a magical place this was to visit just before Christmas with the multitude of Christmas trees, the carousel and all the lights. It was like a fairytale and brought us such joy. It was nice to see the Ritz and all the high end stores dressed up for Christmas.

A very big stone square with an Egyptian obelisk in the center. You will find the famous Ritz Hotel here as well as lots of luxe jewelry stores. I like to check out the pretty displays of the jewelry. If you have money, step inside.

Quite a lot of history here as we stopped while on a tour. It is in the 1st district and not too far from Champs Elysees as well as the Ritz Carlton among other things to see and do in that area of Paris.

It is ok, but it is not a must. Actually we didn’t look for the place, but we found it while walking around.
The monument is far less impressive than others in Paris.

High end shops in this square, but it's very picture worthy. Thus, worth a stop for photos. Even better if taking a walking tour to cover what has taken place here over the centuries.

Beautifully decorated square and a must see during the holiday season. Short walk from the Tuileries Garden Christmas market. Huge Louis Vuitton store there as well as a very fancy Ritz hotel.

Place Vendome is a beautiful open square that is worth a visit and easy to access as you move between L'Opera and the Louver. Window shopping amongst the high end boutiques is a unique experience. Enjoy

One of the five royal squares in Paris, the Place Vendome today is associated with high end jewelry, watches and clothes. The Ritz Hotel is here as is the Ministry of Justice. One road runs north/south through it, intersected by the Vendome Column, Napoleon atop same, celebrating the 1805 victory at Austerlitz. It is hard to feel neutral about the place. You will love the opulence or be more than a little contemptuous of it. The design is nevertheless striking.
