I did this with my boyfriend, and it was the best day in Paris of all week. People were happy, singing and just having a good time. I was surprised how many people showed up, and how big an event it actually was. Everyone can join in, good or bad, and it was only 11 euros ALL included (for the... More

I'm biased, I'm part of the organization... ... but the fact that, after 12 years, I still enjoy marshalling this ride for the benefits of Parisians and visitors alike, should speak volumes. Not for absolute beginners (albeit at a relatively slow pace, we do skate 20+ km, and you need to be able to cope with skating within the crowd... More

Sundays it's 3 hours for the less skilled skaters. Starts at Bastille at 2:30 sharp! Apply lots of sunscreen, bring a liter of water and a small backpack to carry it. Not for absolute beginners, must know how to stop and slow on a long downward slope (T-stop is better than only foot brake.) HOT SWEATY FUN WORKOUT! If you're... More

Did this skate in early May. Could not believe the number and variety of people. Must have been 500 to 800 people. Maybe more. Many stops because of the largeness of the crowd. The volunteer group that organizes this are great. They skate ahead and hold traffic until the large group of skaters passes through each area. What a great... More

This is definitely one of the best organized skates in the world "Rollers & Coquillages", the Sunday afternoon skate, second only to Pari Roller, the Friday night skate in the same city of Paris. This is a video of the Sunday Skate of September 1, 2013. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BieHemUUJY

This was such an awesome experience to skate the streets of Paris. It was very well organised, and the route was reasonably easy (it changes every week). What a great way to see Paris, and get some exercise too! Best of all, it's completely free! Highly recommended for those that can skate ok and know how to stop :)

I love to skate so that automatically made this a fun activity. The event was well organized and everyone seemed nice. The skate was slow so if you are a really good skater do the Friday night with the Pari Rollers. I did both and I liked both for different reasons. This skate was slow but I was able to... More

Started out in the Bastille area right in front on the Nomades store. As 2:30 approached more and more Families with kids, senors, couples and people of all stripes showed up. The skate changes every week. It is well organized and patrolled by club members - Rollers et Coquillages. These patrol people with two way radios skate ahead and stop... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
