I believe this has one of the finest Parisian private art collections I have seen. Situated in a magnificent house with incredible decor. Excellent restaurant serving wonderful afternoon tea at a very good price. Brunch on Sunday is worthy of reservations as very popular with both locals and tourists.

I had not been to the museum on previous visits to Paris. That was a mistake. The building itself is lovely. The stairways and a Tiepolo fresco were impressive. I went to attend an exhibit there, De Zubaran to Rothko. It's advisable to purchase tickets on line in advance. Even then, there was a bit of a line but it... More

This museum started in the mid 19th century, with the love story of banker Edouard André who hired artist Nelie Jacquemarte to decorate his new home on Boulevard Haussman. Nelie and Edouard shared the same good taste for fine furniture, paintings and particularly Italian art, building an impressive collection . They soon fell in love and got married, and for... More

The Musee Jacquemart-Andre was a private museum but today is owned by the Institut de France. The museum started as the private collection of art of a wealthy couple, the banker Edward Andre and his wife, the p[ainter Nellie Jacquemart. They lived in the latter part of the 19th century and over the years built a beautiful and gorgeously furnished... More

This small museum always presents interesting special collections of paintings. The mansion and permanent collection are also worthwhile to see again. This winter, my wife and I saw the special collection titled, "De Zubaran a' Rothko", which presented some very good pieces. It is often a good idea get there early and have lunch at the museum restaurant, which offers... More

This museum was once the private home to a couple who collected fine art and furniture during their travels. The structure and design is simply gorgeous! There are many paintings by Venetian and Florentine artists. Additionally, there are gorgeous rooms such as bedroom suites on display. On the top floor, are about a dozen paintings that are very special, one... More

My wife and I visited this museum for the first time. The building was magnificent with ornate walls and ceilings and a spectacular staircase. There was a wide assortment of paintings including a couple of Picassos.

I love this private Museum, representing the love for art of a special couple in the Paris in the second part of the XiX century. I find Madame Jacquemart fascinating and she was also avery good painter. Her self-portrait and the portrait of her hausband can compare to the works of much more famous artists of her time. The collection... More
