I have been coming to Paris at least annually for years and had never been here but finally realized it was here and visited. A lovely small museum not just loaded with paintings by Monet on the lower floor but a variety of other paintings including a nice collection by Elisabeth Vigee LeBrun.

I've been coming to Paris now for over 25 years and seen dozens of exhibitions, but never had seen anything like to this. There were no restrictions on the number of people visiting the Camille Pissarro exhibition and the visiters were crammed like sardines in the room, it was worse as rush hour on the metros number 1 line. It... More

Not as popular as d'Orsay or Louvre, but definitely not a place to miss! Especially if you'd like to dive into the impressionistic world (which you should, while being in Paris). This place holds the greatest collection of paintings of Claude Monet, but also a lot of Berthe Morrison's work. Taking pictures is forbidden, but that allows you to focus... More

My landlord in France had lived in Paris most of his life and recommended this museum highly. It's so nice because most of the Monet nenuphars are located on a single floor with benches so you can sit and enjoy them. Easily accessed from metro La Muette.

This museum shows excellent art from impressionist painters. Mainly of course of Claude Monet, at recently there is a fantastic exhibition of first impressionist Camille Pissarro - a must see for Art lovers!

The Marmottan is billed in some ways as the "other" Monet museum, which is correct. Housed in a beautiful townhouse, it features an enjoyable collection of Berthe Morisot, the leading female impressionist, a range of works from the collection of Jules and Paul Marmottan, and a large group of Monet works. In addition, right now it has a special exhibition... More

Once in a life time you get such a collection of Pissarro collection from all over the world. It is a must experience ! Don't miss the ground level of the Monet paintings - the permanent exibit. The only problem - a bit over crowded. Suggest you buy tickets in advance.

Though Musee Marmottan is known for its collection of Monet paintings, it is the excellent temporary exhibitions here that bring me back. I recently visited to see the Pissarro exhibition that just opened and will continue through July 2, 2017. The 75 works from private collections and museums worldwide nicely present a retrospective of the artist's works, from his early... More

Pissarro exhibit is stunning but is drawing crowds to this normally off-the-beaten-path (but easily accessible via bus or metro) museum.

The main reason for a visit to the Marmottan is to see the Monet paintings, which are exquisite. However I also enjoy the stroll through the park between the Metro and the museum and the sites of this prosperous neighborhood. The museum is in a lovely mansion. Special expos here are worth a visit.
