If you're an English-speaker in Paris interested in either French cinema, French culture or meeting new people, I highly recommend you attend an event with Lost in Frenchlation.

I got to see their screening of "Bienvenue chez les ch'tis" at l'Arlequin cinema and had some amazing conversations with other international students, enjoyed some stand up comedy and watched a really funny French film!

THIS IS THE BEST THING TO EVER HAPPEN TO EXPATS IN PARIS!!!
(other than "The Paris Metro" in the late 1970s) French Films subtitled in English. Many "just released" in French as well as classics you've wished you could watch in English.
Well organized, well attended, and almost always a little something "extra" added: an interview with the director or with actors or a movie-related "tour" or something special at the drinks bar before the film. Films shown at 3 different cinemas on rotation. Great film experiences shared with fellow film lovers IN ENGLISH!!! Love it!

I studied abroad in Paris this summer and had the pleasure of attending a film hosted by Lost in Frenchlation. My friends and I wanted to explore all the activities that Paris has to offer, with cinema/film being one of them. Unfortunately none of us spoke fluent French so finding a film we could actually watch and understand was difficult since they were all in French. Lost in Frenchlation gave us that opportunity! The cinema was wonderful and I found the traditional style theater to be charming compared to the cookie-cutter cinemas found back where we’re from in the United States. The staff was lovely and the drinks and snacks they had were delicious! I even got the opportunity to speak with Manon, one of Lost in Frenchlation’s co founders. Lost in Frenchlation is an absolute must-do activity if you are traveling to Paris anytime soon!

The events are such a fun way to connect to other international students, expats, and locals in Paris. I love talking with other people who are excited about films and getting to know each other. I also love having the opportunity to hear from the directors after the screenings!

Showing French films with English subtitles is a great way to get closer to the culture. I am very happy to finally attend one of the Lost in Frenchlation screenings, apart from that it was a pleasure to meet new and English-speaking people before the movie started! Can't wait to visit the next event.

So glad that I was able to find somewhere in a Paris to watch a film with my girlfriend that doesn’t speak French yet. Very good drinks, very good movies nonetheless, and we even got to meet with the director after “Toi Non plus tu n’as Rien Vu” and ask her some questions. Manon does a great job organizing and we will definitely be back.
