If have any interest in ASL and the Deaf community, this is a must-see. The history that led to what we see in Deaf education and language began here, and the staff are happy to share their vast knowledge with you. The grounds are beautiful, and everyone is extremely accommodating. Make sure you contact them in advance for a tour.

I read the one review saying to email for a reservation, which I did from their website the same morning for a reservation that afternoon. I used google translator to ask in English & French, the email response was in French so I suggest that.
My son is deaf, with a cochlear implant he decided on when he was 17 years old. There were several kids with implants, which was refreshing. I wasn't sure how accepted that would be? Our guide, Henri, gave us a detailed description of the timeline in sign language (of course) which my son translated for me for the parts I missed. There was another deaf couple on the tour with us from Brasil.
After the timeline, we went to visit the courtyard, gorgeous library, in the back there are beautiful gardens we got to tour. The buildings surrounding are dorms for middle/HS students. Elementary students are there for the day.
From the gardens, we toured the gyms and a few of the classrooms where the students seemed very happy to see us. Our family loved it!! It was the highlight of our trip to Paris!!
We spent 4 days touring during a still very busy tourist season, this was a very nice surprise.

Read about the history of this school, was interested to visit, but unfortunately we were told that school tours would have to be booked through email and in advance.
Luckily a deaf person saw us and helped us entered the ground, just to look from the courtyard and around the office building.
Will try to set up an appointment to have the full tour of this world's first deaf school!
