Unfortunately many attractions on Corsica are closed during the winter months. Îles Saguinaires was one of them. There were no boat tours available to take you to the islands. We walked as far as we could, to the first island, but couldn’t go further. Luckily we were staying close by so could enjoy the view and the nightly sunsets.

Got here from a bus tour to find the parking lot full of cars but few people around? What happened to all those people? I later found out those people were hiking up to the historical watch tower at the summit of this mountain with incredible views of the Corsican coast, faraway Ajaccio, and the Mediterranean. Worth exploring this scenic area.

We visited on a bus tour to get some sights around Ajjacio and this was a nice sight at the end of the trip, fascinating history around the construction of the towers to warn of any trouble.
Quite a bit older than we'd expected, the trip along the coast is really nice as well with great views out over the Med.

Easy to park, nice walk but we got some weather and had to shelter in the bar at the end of the access, very relaxed and pleasant there. Check the opening times of the facilities as they seem to close early sometimes

What a beautiful site! Worth visiting even if it is not sunset :) We spend more than an hour and took the time to walk around the site. There is car park, not too expensive but not free. There are toilets near the car park. Not many food options on site. Worth stopping by!

When you are in Ajaccio area, this is a place to go. Particularly for the sunset behind the islands, a beautiful spot.
You can park you car, for a fee...and walk for a few tens of minutes in the bush.
Safe and picturesque scenic view.

We drove to the point, with lots of parking available (if all full, it probably would have been way too busy!)
Then walk around the point on natural paths (nothing too exiting) and have beautiful views of Corsican coast. As it was quite windy (although sunny), there were amazing waves crashing into the coast.
View of the Îles was nice (and reachable by easier path), climb to the base of the tower steps, with further tremendous views.

I found three different times on this tour and I always enjoy it. It’s about a 45 minute boat ride from the jacks you in the evening. Upon arrival you’re typically provided some wine and some charcuterie before you hike up the ridge to watch the sunset. The experience is out of this world. Unless you are an absolute Napoleon fan, I would put this at the top of the list of things to do when in the area.

I viewed these islands from land at Parata (the terminal stop for the number 5 bus) and then again on a boat tour coming back to Ajaccio from Girolata and the Scandola. I'm not sure the significance of them because my French is not good enough to have understood the commentary on the boat, but they are pretty to look at.
