Best adventure ever

There is no adequate way to describe the GR20. It is a gruelling trail, so make sure you train for it. But it is also breathtakingly beautiful!

I did northern half of the GR20 from Calenzana to Vizzavona in July with some friends, the route was a lot harder than we had ever anticipated, I would be lying if I said it was enjoyable but it was a good sense of achievement at the end, if you want to know what the route is like go and... More

We walked the GR20 North (Calenzana to Vizzavona) in early June 2016. The time was excellent because it was not too hot and just a little snow - and the cabins/campingplaces were not too croweded. Lessons learned - own and others experiences: Always bring enough water, bring as little equipment as possible (iceaxe and crampoons were not necessary when we... More

I did first half of gr20 5 years ago. Due to the increasing popularity of the route I have found that to finish the route you now have to pre book all your camp site spaces or refuge bookings. This in itself is nonsensical as you may need to rest an extra day unplanned due to injury, fatigue, or electric... More

I did the trail from south to north using a guide and a group. I went through a local agency (Allibert Trekking). It's an intense hike and not your typical 2-3 days hike in the woods. It's mostly technical and requires a good level of fitness. We did it in 13 days. We could've done it in 10 days but... More

It is quite some time since I have visited Corse and GR20 trail but it was one of the best experiences I had. The trail leads you from Alpine like mountain rages to beautifull valleys filled with life, then across fields and pastures with almost wild horses, cows, local half wild piggs and after all that you can either go... Take a SMALL rucksack (no, smaller than that), 1 pair of boots you don't mind destroying, a camera, lots of euros and a bivvy bag.

Having destroyed my initial set of (Meindl) boots on day3 I was lucky to be able to buy a new set of hiking boots at Haute Asco. However the options were limited and I had to take a risk with a pair slightly too small. I finished the hike eleven days later having spent most of it looking at what... More

An outstanding adventure. If you love the outdoors and a challenge this is for you but not for the faint hearted! This is the first time I have experienced a 'mind over body' challenge. You body will be killing, you will be starving, you will have cold showers for 2 weeks if they are available, you will have no phone... More

Tough and rocky but what a spectacular trek. The scenery is magnificent and I'd like to highly recommend to fit hill walkers. What made it a little harder was having to carry gluten free foods so the packs were heavier but it was well worth it. Possible to get cheese, saucisons, occasional orange or apple, chocolate and crisps en route... More
