It is hard to chose which Champagne house to visit when in Epernay but this must be one of the best and certainly the best value for money. We chose the tour and blind tasting and discovered so much. The champagne is delightful and when we bought a case it was delivered to our hotel, Excellent service thank you very much.

Why pay €5 per glass for tasting also when buying? It would make sense to pay per tasting glass if you don't buy anything, but if you taste to make sure you buy the champagne you prefer and then also buy a few bottles then the tasting should be free. But this is how the larger producers do it in Champagne (not in other wine regions). Avoid that trap and choose minor producers instead, many of them offer better and cheaper champagne and tasting is free.

We started out our exploration of the Champagne region at this house. Smaller than many of the better known producers, it's tour and tastings were excellent. The daughter of the owner met us first and provided a great video presentation about the region and process of making Champagne. We next took a very informative tour of the facility culminating in the "cave" where the wine is stored. We did a blind tasting of two varieties of Champagne and then culminated with a tasting of a 2007 Bordeaux also offered for sale.
This was an excellent experience and did not have the flash of larger houses-just what we were looking for!

We booked a tour and tasting via email which was very easy and efficient. There are several different types of tours available, we went for the discovery tour which had 2 champagnes each for €17 pp. We were able to choose 2 different champagnes each and therefore taste 4 different champagnes by sharing.

Before we got onto the tasting we had the tour. This was with the youngest female of the 3 generations (we saw the other 2 generations in the shop!) and was just us so it was great to have a private tour! First was the visit to fermentation building which was really interesting, then we had a trip down to the cellars and then a video about the champagne production process before the tasting. The video is the same as at GH Martel in Reims, but the beauty of a private tour was that we got to ask so many questions along the way that we learnt lots of new facts about the champagne process in general and about the history of the Charles Mignon house.

Overall I'd thoroughly recommend a trip to this friendly, family-run house for their tours and tastings. We have several bottles brought home to enjoy!

very informative tour, great to see the 'caves' and find out about the champagne method of production. a wonderful young lady escorted us around, she was amazingly informative, a great asset to this house. the tasting was fun and of course it was the pink champers we had gone for. what was great was there were different prices for the tours- non tasters only E5 (good for the drivers!)

We visited Champagne Charles Mignon on a saturday morning and we were extremely happy with the tour. A super friendly lady explained everything clearly and showed us the wines and the brewing process. Afterwards we did a tasting of 2 glasses per person: very nice, well explained and delicious champagne. We thought that the prices in the shop were very competitive and left with a lovely box of champagne! We will be back if we are in the neighbourhood!

This Champagne house is off the beaten tourist trial. That's fine.

But the tour is weak. You get to watch a DVD. You get to view a gallery of still photos. And you get to view a (very) short length of partially filled wine cellars.

The wine tasting was limited to two small flutes of Champagne.

The lady taking the tour was very informative and charming but the whole experience felt more like an exercise in Euro extraction from the wallet.

In our view, we suggest following the signed Champagne tourist route and stopping by one of the independent wine houses. We've also visited Mercier which was a better experience.

I took a group of 12 to Charles Mignon and we all enjoyed the informative video, followed by a look at the fermentation tanks and then a walk through the cellars while Jessica explained everything.
We did quite a few champagne tours and we all agreed that this champagne was the best!

Lovely visit to this house, had a very informative and enthusiastic guide, we learned lots and tasted some very good champagne. Very nice, more relaxed than other places. Highly recommended

Would recommend this tour and tasting to anyone. Ran by the family (the children do the tour and tastings) which I think gives it a much warmer feel.
We were lucky to get an exclusive tour as no one else had arrived yet (it was busy when we had finished our tasting).
Informative, welcoming and well rounded. A big recommendation when visiting Epernay.
Smaller producer, but a lot of heritage and their champagne is well worth the time.
