06 April, 2014. This is one of the main arterial streets in Tours, and leads right to the city centre. It is lined with shops: from those selling local wares, to clothing, coffee shops, small eateries, ice cream stores, and also has a tram line going all the way down, from the bridge over the Loire, towards the University side.... I enjoyed wondering the rue nationale but on rainy days its another story. Likewise during the sales it gets incredibly busy. Path ways quite large which is good especially if youve got a pushchair.

Good shopping street with all the usual chain stores, Galleries Lafayette etc. In that way, no surprises. But the street itself, is great. Flat, all tiled ( slippery when wet), sleek modern tram running down the middle, no cars, the Loire at one end. We don't have streets like this in North America. Really too bad. I wish we did.

Great shopping street - love C&A in particular as its so reasonable and not available in Ireland. Quality of clothes excellent too. Lots of other chains too like Promod, Monoprix and Cameiu. We bought so much had to buy another case coming home!😬

Interesting to follow the line of the street through the city and across the Loire river. The public transport light rail systemis very frequent and is quite impressive to watch at night, when it is lit up.

Good shopping, attractive for a stroll. It gets particularly slippery in the rain to the extent that I bought some new shoes in the sales (any excuse!) because I couldn't stop slipping in my sandals.

I love National road, it's very beautiful and full of shops and restaurants, it's nice place to walk, and has tramp.it's a long straight road with a beautiful river Loire across the road. Even u can walk around the river , it has a restaurant and bar on the riverbank.

This is the very heart of the city with the trams running through. It has the mixture locals going about their daily business and visitors taking in the sights. Window shopping is great with a whole range of shops. If you stroll just off the main rue there are many more shops to see we found an abundance of very... More
