Hotel Groslet is worth looking at as it is very interesting architecture with fancy intricate brickwork. Also look at the garden. Both are free to see.

Lovely hotel just across the street of the famous Orleans Catheral. The entrance its totally free and the people from the hotel are surprinsingly amicable. The design and architecture its quite impressive but for me the most beautiful thing to admire its the park at the back where you can see somo lovely statues and enjoy the garden. Pass by... More

This former Hotel de Ville (townhall) is free to visit and worth a detour for the lovely architecture and decor. Only a few rooms but you'll get a sense of the Orleans of the past and good views onto the Cathedral and garden. In Autumn this was a nice treat.

Very close to Orleans cathedral, but almost entirely off the tourist track, to the point that the lady on reception was keeping a score sheet of visitors, and where they came from. It's a sixteenth century building with sumptuous interiors to admire, and some nice Renaissance cabinets and furniture. There's a bronze statue of Joan of Arc outside still showing... More

The building is near to the cathedral and it is free. It will take about 15 minutes. The building in itself is worth a visit: beautiful staircase outside, statue of Jeanne d'Arc outside and lovely details in the courtyard. Inside the rooms are completely furnished and there are some lovely Chinese vases.

Our tour guide was determined to find this place and we are so glad he did. It is a gem! Completely free to enter and absolutely full of history. We were shown Spanish leather on chairs, tapestries, amazing carvings on wood, the list goes on. It would be so easy to miss this place because it is not signposted and... More

Its free & well worth the look. The furnishings are beautiful and original. You can purchase a small brochure/booklet with information on this wonderful building. Be sure to look at the brilliant Joan of Arc statue at the outside stairway. There are free toilets there too.

Small place, you can see it in a few minutes, but it is free, right opposite the tourist information office and it is surprising.

Built as a private residence in the Renaissance-style of the 1500s, this lovely building has at various times served as the King's residence (King Francois II died here in 1560), the Orleans city hall after the Revolution, and most recently as a hotel and popular site for weddings. The common rooms in the front of the building are freely open... More
