Even with cold, what a nice place! We were lucky to get a sunny day. The brochure is really well explained. No need of a tour. You can do it alone. Do not miss it if you are nearby. The history behind it is fascinanting

We went there in November. Maybe not the time of year that most people would think of going there but in Autumn the chateau has its own special charm. The trees in the garden looked marvellous in their Autumn colours with a carpet of flowers underneath. Inside the chateau the blazing log fires gave it a warm cosy atmosphere. There... More

Excellent audio guide with so much rich history about the 5 women and their influences on the castle. I really learnt the most at this castle. Spent about 2 hours here.

Toured the Loire Valley for several days seeing multiple chateaux, and this was my favorite. Not necessarily the fanciest, but being built on the ruins of an old mill over the Cher River makes it very unique. Photos of this chateau are used in many advertisements for the area and chateaux in general. The gardens looked lovely but were still... More

The Chateau is gorgeous with an intriguing history. I came here in the off-season and can't recommend it enough. There's less foot traffic so you have more time and space to take everything in. You also have the opportunity for better pictures of the interior and exterior. Especially from either garden where you snap a photo of the whole Chateau... More

This was the second time I have visited but it was still beautiful. They have added the hiring of row boats so that you can see the chateau from the water (fantastic for photos) and I thought this was going to be ££££ (kerching!) but was only €8 for 30 mins. We had a fun time going round in circles... More

13 Euro to view the Chateau and grounds with a brochure. 17.5 Euro for admission with the audio guide. The château of Chenonceau offers a free application, "Discover Chenonceau", which will give you all the necessary information from the App Store as well. You can buy tickets at the kiosks before entry as well as staffed ticket center. Plan on... More

Visited Chateau de Chenonceau as part of a coach tour group. Because we were on a schedule, we only had a few hours to explore this magnificent estate. After entering through the gift shop, we approached the chateau via a long tree-lined drive through the lovely forest which surrounds the estate. We passed between two sphinx-like statues and crossed the... More

One of the best-known châteaux of the Loire valley, spending a half-day here was very nice. The grounds, the chateau, the furnishings and history tell a wonderful tale of how this building survived the ages and most recently served as a war hospital whose rehab was funded by the then current owners. There are a number of secondary sites on... More
