The salmon house isn't far from the cathedral and is an excellent example of the half erred houses in this area of Chartres.

Well preserved and used as the tourist office so a good place to start your visit to Chartres. Doesn't even smell of fish.

It's now the site of the tourist information office, but a great example of a medieval building that has survived to this day

This is an interesting stop on the walking tour. The efforts the community is making to restore and preserve the medieval structures makes the visit to Chartres more than just the Cathedral.
