My 2 children (12 and 14) and I visited this place and enjoyed it! The site consists of 3 cave dwellings and associated buildings, furnished/equipped as they would have been when used. There are also enclosures with various far animals. The caves were inhabited in...More

How did the peasants live while the royalty lived in the lap of luxury in palaces? What was life like for regular rural folk? This is a true lesson in history.

Many fun activities for primary schoolers. Our teenagers were underwhelmed. Interesting to see how many lived while François I was in his châteaux! Worth a visit.

After having visited a few chateaux the kids were in dire need of a change! We spent a few hours at this historic site, discovering how farmers used to love from the middle ages up to recently in those troglodyte buildings. We had lunch at...More

My family had a great time here. I have two boys, aged 11 and 13. We all loved seeing how the people lived in the caves. They have a lovely garden and some well-kept farm animals, too. They also had a trail which led up...More

My boyfriend and I were very interested in the Troglodyte history and how they lived, so we were very much looking forward to this visit. It was wonderful to see how the other half (95%!) lived way back when these beautiful Chateaus and area were...More

Tour is self paced. Reasonable price. My wife and I enjoyed to see how those who toiled to supply the chateaus and castles lived. Recommend a visit if you are in the area.
