If you like lots of Baroque Rococo-esque décor etc, then you'll happily spend a couple of hours trolling around this elegant location. It's very French (surprise, surprise!) and it proudly exalts those who ruled this fascinating region of France.

Stepping back into history this guided or self guided tour is nothing short of fascinating as one gets an idea of the scale, wealth, power and influence of the Dukes of Burgundy.

Would have liked to have seen more artifacts relating to the Ducs of Borgone and more documentation about them. Perhaps alas the revolution is responsible for some losses. This may also explain the re-siting of the very impressive monumental tombs in the Palace displays.

Entrance is obscured - but worth it when you arrive. Museums are free in Dijon, and this was a worthwhile one to visit. Don't forget to look around at the actual palace - not just the museum pieces.

This is a beautiful example of a classical royal palace with some Gothic parts. It has free entry and is really worth a visit.
