Today we had a fantastic wine cave (cellar) tour and tasting at Bouchard Pere & Fila led by Clement! He first gave us a tour of the Bouchard wine caves and explained their history and showed their various vineyards on a map. He talked about their wine making process and transition to organics. The wine caves are extensive, covering 2 stories! Then we returned to a classroom setting for the tastings! Clement had information, maps, and a listing of the wines he was tasting. With each, he showed the vineyard the grapes came from on the map and explained how each year differed based on the weather and soil they were grown. We had 6 tastings- 3 red and 3 white. The reds were delicious! Not being a white wine drinker, all 3 of the whites were delicious!!! First time that happened 😁🍷. I commend Clement for his excellent tour and tasting! If you go here, hopefully you will get him! I recommend this winery for everyone as both reds and whites were excellent!

Reserving in advance means you receive your own, personal tour and it’s so worth it. Our guide, Charlotte, was charming, knowledgeable and a pleasure to be with for an hour and a half. We learned a great deal, savoured wines we had never tasted and felt completely unrushed. The cave and gardens are beautiful and the shop/tasting room chic and welcoming. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough. If you love wine - do it. But then why else would you be in Beaune?

My wife and I are wine lovers and decided to start the journey at Bouchard Pere ( don’t mix up with the “other” Bouchard ..)and the experience surpassed our expectations. The reception area shouts wine tourism but the guides are the real deal. They are knowledgeable and welcoming. Eg our guide/ consultant Charlotte, who had studied oenology before working harvest in various regions. She could explain the nuances of trellis and cropping. Such is the level. The centuries old fortress, doubling as wine storage in old cellars , and of course the tasting were both incredible. Visit is by reservation ,at various levels , but I assure u whichever levelwith which you are comfortable , they will make it better. Push the boat out .... life is worth it , esp after l’enfant jesus, Bonne Mares , cLos de beze , 2 Corton Charlemagnes, incl one mature 20yrs old.)! Charlotte’s passion comes thru in the private tasting , u can see the pupils widen when the topics of wine n good pop up. Very contagious. She is the best ambassador amongst all we have met over the world. We will be back for more

Our tour guide Christine made us feel welcomed and comfortable. So professional. My husband and I learned so much about The Bouchard wines and the wines of Bourgogne. She showed us the cellar and gardens. She was kind and really educated us on how the labels should be read and what to look for in a wine from this region.

Both my husband and I were in the wine industry in sales for most of our careers so we wanted a tasting that was geared towards our level of knowledge. Bouchard Pere et Fils did not disappoint. I had signed up for the Grand Crus tasting as we wanted to taste the best of the best. Our guide, the very capable and knowledgeable Claire, took us on a short tour of the cellars. It was only the two of us, so we were able to have some very good discussions about how the Bouchard family and others were able to hide their wines during World War II and also the history of the winery itself. Afterwards, she led us through the tasting of 5 reds (including the Jesus L'enfant) and 3 whites, all Premier and Grand Crus. The reds were all from the 2014 vintage but different areas so it made it interesting to compare them. It was a lovely two hours spent in Beaune. We ended up buying four bottles of wine that we have been drinking since throughout our travels in Europe.

This was my second time doing the cellar tour and tasting at Bouchard. The tour is $45, so I wouldn't have done it again had it not been exceptional the first time. Bouchard schedules each group with their own tour guide, which is wonderful. No huge groups with annoying people. The tour guides are well-educated (usually with degrees in oenology) but still friendly and patient with myriad questions. Our tour was cut short due to rain (could not see the gardens), but was more than compensated for with a leisurely and informative tasting experience. Our guide, Charlotte, was wonderful. If you can do only one tour/tasting while in Beaune, make it this one.

We visited on Easter Sunday knowing there would be no tours and expecting just the wine shop to be open, but we were treated to a great tasting based on our specific interest in the L'Enfant Jesus wine. In addition, there's a nice exhibit in the shop regarding the history of Bouchard Pere et Fils. The gentleman who served us couldn't have been more knowledgeable.

Second to a full-blown wine class, this tour and tasting was the most valuable learning experience of our trip to Burgundy. Our guide, Perrine, was terrific, patiently answering our many questions. And during the tasting, she was an absolute fountain of information, very professional and knowledgeable. If you are short on time, make sure this is on the top of your list for a tour/tasting. You'll be glad you did.

We only went to the shop rather than a tour, but it was a good experience. The is an extensive list of Bouchard wines to buy, with an extensive price range to match! We got a couple of cases of reasonably prices wines that are difficult to find at home, so were very pleased. Good knowledgeable service (advice on drinking dates etc).
We noticed two couples turning up and being disappointed to find that there was no cellar tour available - these are only available if booked in advance.
