This cathedral sits in the very centre of town and so is easy to access. It is worth a look as it has some very beautiful stained glass and impressive reliquaries (whose skull fragment is that?) Quite grand.

The Cathedral dominates the center city main square. Nearly 1600 years old, it has been rebuilt a few times after some damage. Nice to visit. We attended mass with the Bishop on Sunday and enjoyed the service

The town of Quimper is very nice and I would highly recommend time here. The cathedral is Gothic with an elaborate external facade. The inside is stunning with a very high arch ceiling. There is a timeline of Christianity which is very interesting.

Even my 6yo (who was under strict instructions to keep quiet) managed a loud whisper “wow!” when we entered! Stunning stained-glass scenes and the enormous proportions of the cathedral were breathtaking.

This is a cathedral dedicated to one of four saints of Brittany. Very nice from inside. Must visit in Quimper.

A large and ornate cathedral for a relatively small town - but most intriguingly the view fron the West door to the altar curves round to the left by a significant amount!

I can see why this is a top sight in Quimper. It is huge with very interesting side altars, a magnificent center and it’s tall and lovely, obviously built over many centuries. It is awe inspiring.

Definitely worth a visit - beautiful architecture - and very calm and peaceful. Worth a look upwards to the dome to see the deliberately wonky line in the roof!

We were fortunate to be here when the cathedral was full to bursting, to celebrate the ordination of a new priest. Clergy and townspeople, and church music. It is sadly normal now to find a cathedral to be an empty room of whispers: but this...More
