Much smaller than the adjacent grand plage, this is however a very nice beach. It is also close to what is arguably the best part of the city centre in terms of cafes, bars etc.

Beach as fantastic as usual, despite being overcrowded due to the unusual heat for October. Accommodation was very disappointing, beware small premises for two.

Lovely little beach next to the grande plage. It seemed crowded but the waves seemed calmer. There were no cabins to rent here so I preferred the grande plage. It’s also surrounded by restaurants and music.

Really nice day out. Plenty of parking although spaces a bit tight. Lots of restaurants to choose from and great to stroll along the front and around the bay. The beeches were also very clean.

Little beach but full of love. The sand is always humid but a nice place to go and have a bath in a quietly place.

This was is a picturesque beach nestled in the headland so the water is calmer but the beach is more crowded than 'La Grand Plage'. We enjoyed our walks around it, particularly in the evening as its a good place to see the sunset.

Nice secluded Beach that was beatiful even in the stormy autumn weather. But just for a short while.

The port is characterized by very high walls to protect from vigorous wave, and a tiny exit passage with little current for ships to exit between the rocks in a delicate maneuver.

Access to the beach is down steps, no sloping ramps. We were there on the hottest week of the year and needed to take a sunshade and mats for the beach. The beach slopes considerably into the sea and the sand is quite sharp. The sides of the cove are rocky. There is a restaurant at the town end and there are lifeguards at popular times. Nearby shops sell things you need.

Well protected, probably only has an opening 50m wide to the Bay of Biscay.
Surfers and body boarders not here.
Local swimmers use this safe water to swim out to the rocky outcrops (not islands) that are off shore.
Low tide also allows the local divers an opportunity to fossick among the exposed rocks or even dive on the ones that would ordinarily be too deep.
The cliffs that enclose 80% of the beach, and the 3 levels of cafes can mean it is a little stuffy and probably stifling on the hottest days, but you can rely on the bay to provide a cool dip.
Popular among locals and tourists to sunbathe and swim.
Also, cafes and bars allow you to sneak off and remain hydrated.
