Free entrance if you are Customs officers, no matter what country you are from. I was there to study the historical perspective and the way they manage to exhibit their story and historical evidence. I was very impressed of this museum as they do not...More

We went here partly to get out of the heat for a while! It was a very interesting and informative visit. We took the audio guide which I would recommend. We learnt a lot about the history of France and the life of customs officers...More

Managed by a division of the actual French Customs, this is a very interesting museum right next door to Place de la Bourse and the reflecting pond. It has some of the history of Bordeaux, history of the institution of Customs and history of, what...More

It was very interesting to read the detailed information about the Customs throughout the ages! We found it very interesting and informative! Les Douaniers at the front desk were most friendly and answered our questions too. Well worth the detour!

This museum covers in some depth the history of the French Douaniers and their predecessors the 'Tax Farmers'. Interesting if slightly overwhelming, to make the most of it in English you really need the audio guide (for which photo ID is required as a deposit)....More

The museum is superb. The most interesting object is an enormus egg from a preistoric fowl. There are many exhibits that have been seized by customs officer.

Easy to find, has a little cupboard to mind your coats and day-pack. Entrance fee is reasonable and you get an audio guide for a few extra euros. It was a bit long winded but made the experience, without it we would have whizzed through...More

Fascinating waterfront museum of Customs & Excise ( not my usual cup of tea, but fascinating) All in French, so an audio guide might help, about 1/2 hour should do it & look out for the confiscated Chinese Erotic models, in a covered box to...More
