I wed there expecting to taste some street food, but there was very little choice. This market is mainly for locals as most stalls sell raw food. We were hungry so we bought some sandwiches. Food was absolutely terrible. Some chicken skewers were raw!

We enjoyed the market very much. Lots of locals shopping and enjoying life. Shrimp, oysters, bread, and wine for brunch is perfect! River boat cruise ships tied up on the quasi, skateboard park, shopping - nice vibe!

I've visited this market several times on a Sunday morning and have always found it a delight. Oyster bars at each end, if you like oysters. (Flying home with cabin bags only? then do not buy tins of rillettes or pâté, they will be confiscated.)

OMG one of the best things in Bordeaux. It’s a joy to stroll through by all the stalls selling fish, meats, veg, fruit, cheese, soaps, pies, spices, cakes, breads .... pure joy. Some stalls also serve fresh oysters. Heaven.

The food market is open 7am to 1pm but some of the stallholders might wander in later and leave earlier. Other stalls, bric a brac and so on, stay open till about 4pm, and unless I'm mistaken, the stalls where you can eat... More
