- mary w41 contributionsWhat no cafe!Great visit but why no cafe? Apparently there are 4 cafes on site but none of them open on a Saturday. You can't even get a cup of coffee or tea. Other than that the visit was good. Just make sure you aren't hungry or thirsty when you go.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 25 November 2023
- john28LondonLondon, United Kingdom569 contributionsA great story well toldThe building is a little tired and there were repairs going on. However it is an important building to visit and impressive in many ways The story of the European project is well explained. UK’s withdrawal is not mentioned but for British visitors such as myself there is a poignant feeling of regret throughout the visit. - AnLil929 contributionsLow key with ‘Haute’ vistaTaking both bicycles and the tram, we visited the European Parliament hemicycle/Agora, Winston Churchill (Council and Court) of the European Union. Taking rue Simone Veil from the border of Strasbourg-Neustadt to the round iconic European Parliament towers (Louise Weiss) was not difficult. There were ‘E’ trams to Wacken or several buses at more nearby stops, where you’ll pay outside before boarding for the ride. Whether on two wheels or more, enjoy the lovely suburbs and park-like view outside the historic Centre. Strasbourg is more than just the island of the River L’ill and ramparts. Just past the international Congress is the Rhine and 8 European countries—located within 500 kilometres of Strasbourg. We didn’t have to register online pre-arrival like at Brussels’ European Parliament, but we did bring our passports for quicker verification. The bronze bust and exhibit of Simone Veil was in Strasbourg, strangely, and not in Brussels. However, seeing the plenary was interesting, unlike at Brussels. From the heights of the Parliament building, only in Strasbourg, you’ll see the view from the Rhine to the Vosges and Black Forest!Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 25 August 2024

Turned out visiting is incredibly limited. Travelled in the morning as a big part of a day trip to Strasbourg, only to find it’s mainly geared towards groups and couldn’t walk around either. Wasn’t expecting to witness a sitting like the time I was in Scotland or anything major like that.
Took a few pictures of the flags and left it.
And for a representative body it’s perhaps ironically really out of the way. Taking the tram there was a bit of a faff.

The staff there is very friendly. For safety reasons, they check your forehead temperature as well as covid-safe-ticket. Once inside there are plenty of ushers to show you where you have to be. The only thing that could be better is that the headphones weren't cushioned so your ears became aware of them quite rapidly (but then again, this might have been due to covid-reasons. Disposable cushions would 've been better OR bring your own head phones).

We went on a random Saturday, and expected just a few corridors to be open to the public. But a large part was open, despite that it wasn't a special opening day, and there were tours and interactive activities available. Really good, highly recommend.

Despite what trip advisor says this attraction is open to the public in the afternoon. There is limited access to the buildings but you can sit in the main parliament ‘hemisphere’ and visit the 13th floor terrace which affords great views over the city. The tour itself provides basic but limited information. Overall glad we went to see it but once is enough

A pleasant stroll by the riverside took us to one of the main EU Institutions.
It was closed on arrival but still interesting to see both it and other associated Organisations, notably Palais de l'Europe and Cour Européenne des Droits de l'Homme.
Quite a lot of development is taking place in the area and a number of impressive office buildings with modern architectural designs are to be seen.

With just your ID you can access the free visit of the European Parliament. You can enter the Eurochamber and see the chamber. They give you an audio guide that you can listen to all sitting in the MEP. Then you can climb to the roof of the building where the views of the city are spectacular

A good discovery, free, so worth making! An audio guide allows you to orient yourself and discover this legendary place. Outside of plenary sessions, our visit and listening to videos takes place in the hemicycle...a real pleasure. On the other hand, it's a little slow and not very suitable for young children (3 and 7 years old).

When you have been there, you simply get a different understanding of an institution. That is why it is worth visiting the European Parliament in Strasbourg. There are exhibitions on art and the history of the EU inside the building. Then you can go into the visitors' gallery and watch the video guide in peace. There you will be greeted by a member of your own country and the President and can find out everything about the Parliament. Finally, you can visit the roof terrace and enjoy the great view over Strasbourg. On the edge you can see the hills of the Black Forest and the Vosges.

Very interesting free tour with a useful audio guide in certain parts. The exhibitions are not too long and you learn things about Europe. The small exhibition on Louise Weiss is very informative. In terms of architecture, although we have seen it hundreds of times in the media, the building is impressive and a visit to the terrace reveals a spectacular view of Strasbourg.

Brussels, Belgium
Thank you for your question!
Unfortunately not, Saturday guided tours are only for individual visitors (or group with less than 10 people).
Groups can visit the European Parliament from Monday to Friday morning (mandatory booking on our website).

I want to visit the European Parliament tomorrow, but on the website is written that is not possible to book the visit, so you have just to present yourself there. Is that right. Thank you
Written 27 June 2018
Hello. I visited last Friday. Actually, there is no booking. At the main entrance, you will find the tametables in three languages (English, French and German)
I suppose that this anwer is too late for you. But as I cannot see any answer, maybe it could be useful for other readers.

The security is there. You are checked and you are allowed to enter the inner court for a quick self-tour. Entering the building is only for delegations and MEPs.
