Located between Rue de Marchands and the Cathedral, we took cover from the snow/rain under the building during the noon break. No shops were open between 12pm and 2pm in Colmar.

We were pleasantly surprised to find out there was WifiLib cover here. So while waiting for the precipitation to stop and shops to reopen, we updated our social media accounts with the free wifi.

Look out for the 1st floor wall facing Rue de Marchands. There were arches that were walled up. I guess the imperfection makes the building even more unique.

In front of the cathedral you will find this beautiful building, the former house of the city guards. It is a real gem for photos too.

I’m not super religious, but building like this are truly amazing architectural beauties. This one even had a large birds nest, complete with large bird at the top. Lots to see inside and out. Doesn’t take long to see and worth it.

This is opposite the old cathedral. The building is very interesting and certainly worth a photograph or two.

If you are in Colmar, you will likely walk past this balcony and view the original administrative buildings. Though you cannot go inside, walking along the structure will be a great sight for those who love architecture, art, and wandering. The tiny doors along the building are delightful.

It is very close to the most popular cathedral of the village. So you can add this point to your city tour map for not to miss it.

The building of the Guard Corps was built in 1575 in the center of Colmar. Previously, from the 13th century, the chapel of Saint-Jacques was located on this site.
