This building is another distinctive feature of Colmar. Very interesting green tile patterned roof. Worth taking a look at.

As is the case with many of these structures in Colmar, you can take pics of the facade, but won't be able to go inside. Worth some pics as it's a rarity to see buildings with this type of design anymore.

You can’t miss it. It is right there at the center of Colmar. We were amazed by the intricate details of the roof tiles.

The former customs house, a massive building, with a rather common architecture. Beautifully restored, keeping the old features.
I see that some people confuse it with the "Au Koifhus" restaurant, located in another building, diametrically opposite, in the same square. They are two different things!
At the time of my visit, around Christmas, the ground floor hosted a Christmas Market, with traditional products and handicrafts.

This medieval edifice is easy recognizable with its mostly green ceramic tiles on its roof. Apart from its beauty the House played a vital role in the economy these days, as all the goods entering the town had to go through here, pay local taxes and then appear on the market.
Today, Koifhus is a big tourist attraction standing on a beautiful square.

This is a typical place specialised in tourism to feed them quickly!
I ordered a table being happy to not have to worry where to go for dinner.
The food was ok; actually I had snails for a starter and they were the worst I have ever had! How can one do that 😳
The Bain was a pot full of cooked meat.... don’t know why! Might be a traditional fish but.....
I would not go there anymore and would not recommend it. It’s nothing special and nothing worth going there!

The Old Custom House is the oldest public building of Colmar. It used to played an important role in the economic life of the town in the past. Nowdays it is a nice tourist attraction in the centre with its ceramic tiles on the roof. There are lots of flowers in the windows and the courtyard. We saw an interesting fair where you can buy handicraft goods.

This was an important building for the city, built in the late 1400s and still solidly standing today. There was a fair in the main hall featuring local crafts the August afternoon were were there and, while we didn't buy anything, it was a nice distraction from the heat of the day. The building has a great covered courtyard, also, which came in handy when a late afternoon rain storm passed over the area. Acoustics were pretty good too as a young guitar player entertained us all as the rain pelted the streets outside. Lovely town.

The old customs house is a nice old building. It has and arch that you can walk under. It also has a place that you can see where everyone entering the city once had to pull their stuff through to get taxed upon entering the city. Cool history of how there small city states operated.
