Small traditional boozer swamped by modern day developments. Decent beer, no room to swing a cat and a bit warm.

Early Saturday evening visit and the place was rammed. We bought drinks and retreated to the tables outside in the bracing Manchester breeze! This gave an opportunity to look at the tiling on the outer walls. Really is a proper Victorian boozer and stands out...More

If you like old school pubs, full of history and character, then do not skip this place by. Intriguing little rooms with wonderful aged decor. Combine the above with friendly, warm and welcoming staff & a great selection of real ales. Highly, Highly recommend

Beautiful old pub with lots of historic features. The tile work on the outside is stunning. Friendly atmosphere inside with separate snugs surrounding an island bar. Pint of Mancunian was lush. Proper gem.

Such a nice traditional pub, it would be sad if we'd have come to Manchester and not had a pint here. We had one of the quaint little rooms to ourselves for a chat after a long day of working away from home, it was...More

This pub features on the cover of Manchester Pubs - City Centre and is in my mind one of the most iconic pubs in Manchester. Attached is the painting done of The Peveril for the front cover of the book.

Standing out with its green-tiled exterior only slightly spoilt with the neon Guinness sign. Inside 3 rooms and a corridor curved around the bar. Lovely place with bar games such as pool in one room and bar football in the main bar. Dark wood topped...More

I’m sure they’ll be fine with that. It’s a really relaxed place - but why not phone them first?

They were all very friendly - I was concentrating more on the beer selection than other drinks but I'm sure you'll find something to slake your thirst - as well as a a great welcome
