By chance I visited the bus museum on Saturday 16 May when there was a model rail show. The advantage of going on such a day is there is a free bus to the Queens Road tram station. The disadvantage is that many of the exhibits are not accessible due to traders stalls and model rail layouts. Apparently a repeat... More

Thanks for your review, Jeff S. It was a busy weekend with over 1200 people visiting over the weekend. By its very nature, the annual Model Railway event means we move buses out for the weekend to give some space for the model train layouts. On most event weekends we run a free heritage bus from the city centre, stop... More

The title is misleading - transport is more than buses - but the huge array of exhibits was impressive, though perhaps more interesting if you know the area better than I do. The shop caters especially for children.

This is a great day out for all ages. We got to explore lots of the old buses and trams, and got to ride on some old boneshaker buses that took us up to Heaton Park and back. There are some exhibits you can sit in (and pretend to drive a Manchester tram!). Little cafe with decent reasonably priced food,... More

Children and adults will both enjoy this trip down memory lane. You can sit in some of the old buses and they have even come up to date with a tram. There is a small cafe.

Basic but brilliant cafe that is very reasonably priced. Loads of buses to jump on an off and take pictures of. Would recommend.
