It is certainly hidden - down a backstreet near the town hall! The outside is uninspiring (the date on the plaque is misleading - the building is mid 19th century) and the interior nothing special either except for the very impressive altar carvings which are...More

This little church in the back streets near the town hall is a feast for the eyes when you go inside. You will be hard pressed to see a more ornate or beautiful alter than the one in the hidden gem. I was the only...More

This church has such a calming effect. Seems quite popular as when we visited we saw more than 30 people. Considering it was a cold winter day it definitely has drawn people out of their homes.

We found this Church just off a side lane, near the statue of Abraham Lincoln. It's a bit subdued on the outside, but the inside is really impressive (but I didn't take photos inside).

I've failed to find this church twice before even though I thought I'd followed the signs. This time I was more determined and realised I'd walked straight passed it previously. The church is tucked away in the city centre and isn't over impressive externally, however,...More

St. Mary's Church is called the Little Gem of Manchester and is well worth the visit. The hardest bit was finding it.
