    Impressive Venue
Hi went for the first time to see the legend Suzi quatro. We had previously heard so much about the hall & it's acoustics. The hall is very impressive in design & the sound is excellent. All the staff friendly & helpful. Recommended

    Stunning venue, amazing staff.
We visited the wonderful venue for the Far From Saints concert last night. It's a beautiful venue and we had a great time. I wanted to make a special mention to Andrew who was able to resolve an issue with seating. He was so compassionate and he's a credit to the team there.

    Fantastic show, venue and staff.
Went with my Granddaughter yesterday to see the Muppets Christmas Carol. Amazing. We had a fantastic time, my granddaughter said she felt special, the staff simply couldn't do enough for us. Thank you to all the staff from security, people working on the bars and front of house, management should be proud of every single one of you.

Fab venue, incredible Rick Wakeman concert
My first visit to The Bridgewater Hall: what a superb venue. Friendly staff, very comfortable seating - and wonderful Rick Wakeman on stage with his English Rock Ensemble! A brilliant, brilliant evening in a lovely space. Loved the 3 backing singers - what a clever idea to have them join Rick on his keyboard rig for the end of the encore! Full marks and huge thanks to all the band and tech team too.

Great place, shame about the bar prices
Amazing venue both inside and out. This place is so well maintained, looks no different to what it was when I last attended some years ago. Everything is so well organised including the way the main bar service works. The reason for only four stars is the over the top bar prices. £3.95 for a splash of coke in a rum. That is way overpriced. I did approach the duty manager to give my views on the ridiculous price for a splash of code and he agreed with me and said he would pass the feedback to the bar manager

Worth adding the option of pre concert dining if you have the chance.
I cannot recommend the pre concert dining in the Charles Halle restaurant enough. The food was excellent and really good value for money. The concert hall has wonderful acoustics making the whole visit thoroughly enjoyable. The seating is comfortable and roomy too.

My Daughter and I went to see a concert by The Gypsy Kings on 26th March at the Bridgewater Hall. Our tickets were for the Gallery - the young lady who showed us where to go sent us initially to the wrong part, it was only when a couple turned up later, did we realise that we were in the wrong. These were in aisle A. By the way, the side seating is absolutely appalling - there was a suspended PA right in the way of the view - I have no idea how anyone can enjoy a concert from these seats or indeed the one directly opposite. As it turned out, our ticketed seats were in the front row of the Gallery and right in the middle - a much improved view. The band came on at 8:30 pm and went straight into their repetoir. It has to be pointed out now that the sound was absolutely appalling - the overall sound itself was muddy, bass heavy and with no mid range detail. Being in the middle of the hall, we should have had a decent sound, but it was terrible. You had to rely on you knowledge of the tracks to be able to make out was was being played by the band - the muti part vocal harmonies were shredded by the overall sonic vandalism on offer here. I think this hall is better suited to a traditional orchestra rather than a rock or pop band - the dynamics of the hall are totally unsuitable. The Gypsy Kings were of course amazing, but their music was savaged by the building. Whoever the architect was for this place, needs a thorough examination and scrutiny by their professional body. I will for one will not be returning to this venue. I can only recommend to anyone being compelled to purchase tickets for this abomination of a concert hall, that you get them for the middle, and perhaps in the lower tiers, as the Gallery and the wings are totally unsuitable for sound and vision. I don't know what the architect was thinking!

Arrived at the venue 90 minutes before the start and hoped to get a drink first. On entry the ground floor bar seating was already full. As our tickets were in upper levels I said we would use the other bars upstairs. However the entry to the upstairs bars was closed until 60 minutes before the start - WHY??? So we joined an orderly queue and waited 30 minutes until we were allowed to get a drink (with a table). The upstairs bars have a large area but few tables - WHY???

The concert was great - Journey To The Centre Of The Earth.

Now, I have to admit I am not great with steep steps and heights so anyone else having the same issues may prefer to avoid the upper levels. Sat on the front row so great view. The downside was all the people pushing past and having to get up and down a lot as railings very low (only two bars on railings where we were but some areas had three rails). Again, vertigo sufferers take note.

A long encore lasting 20 minutes was well received. However, at end of the show the house lights did not come on so it was a free for all in the dark up the steep steps with little or no hand rails to help. Just as most people were out of the seating areas the house lights came on - surely a health and safety issue?

If anyone is booking multiple tickets or multiple shows it is worth visiting the box office in person to avoid the hefty online booking fees (I still cannot get my head around why it is cheaper to buy via a real person rather than online with no humans involved!)
