My husband is from Gtr Manchester and on this family visit we decided to try the Whitworth. My 90 yr old F-I-L lived near by in his youth and remembers a far different type of gallery. This art museum seems to feature various rotating collections....More

Enjoyed the exhibitions that were featured - but hadn't realised that the art mentioned as part of the collection is only on display if it is part of a featured exhibition. So wasn't able to view the art I really wanted to see - Turner,...More

Every time I go here there's something new and amazing to see - the range of artists and styles available to see are what make the Whitworth so special. The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable, and it's always worth a look inside.

A beautiful building mixing old and modern and set in parkland in the University district. We went for the textile design exhibition which was on at the time but there is other interesting art on display.

New exhibits, new travelling collections, new parts of the building all blend together with the historical Victorian centrepiece. I always enjoy time here.

I loved they way they chose to display their collection (I think it was the one their standard exhibit). Unusual and beautiful, allows your eye to roam around paintings for different genres.

Title says it all! Cafe excellent too. Nice spaces with interesting changing galleries with most media represented, including performance. Good half day visit.

The Greenheys car park, just off Denmark Road, barely two blocks from the Whitworth, is lovely. £1/hour, with a parking attendant.
