So glad we got to see this exhibition, we really enjoyed it. Gallery was closing soon when we arrived and they were nice enough to let us in anyway! Didn't get a chance to get a proper look around the rest of the gallery, but we didn't mind once we got to see this exhibition.

There was a lot on when we went. Modern dance/art installations in one area. Several special exhibitions. The cafe is in a glass walled extension that feels like you are in the park among the trees. The food was of exceptional standard for a museum cafe. All in all we had a great day at the Whitworth.

Set in Whitworth Park, not only has the gallery augmented its display with interesting exhibitions (recently Hockney) and some good film and live exhibitions built the extension and its aspect are spectacular. Perhaps a little spartan, but a tremendous space. Definitely should be on any Manchester itinerary.

I love the Whitworth, I go whenever I visit Manchester. I love the building and the café with its large windows. Be warned it is ALWAYS busy in the cafe no matter what day of the week you go, so be prepared to wait for a table. The last exhibit I saw was the Andy Warhol, to see these works... More

Beautiful location, great food and nice staff! We booked beforehand, for a fairly large group. Everything was set, nice table at a really good spot. Highly recommended.

Despite housing works from notable modern artists, the presentation of the work in this gallery is very accessible to everyone, so even if you think you don't like modern art, it's a great space to explore and the atmosphere lends itself to seeing artwork in a new perspective.
