In short you see life in this street. The well heeled, the down trodden and Mr & Mrs average. A great choice of shops and store and wall to wall to wall busking and music. You must stop and watch some of the acts, some...More

The largest stores such as Debenhams and Primark are at its Piccadilly Gardens end; TK Maxx and an entrance to the vast Arndale Centre in the middle; smaller stores at the end. Whilst the stores themselves are welcoming, the street itself is nondescript and fairly...More

One of the buzziest streets in central Manchester, this street encapsulates the spirit of Manchester's shopping-malls. Loads to shop along the street, and especially good for window-shopping as there is a lot on display. There are often street performers and crowd watching too. Wonderful atmosphere...More

Has many shops, most of which close so early. The best part of the market is when the stalls are erected selling all sort of food ranging from arab, turkish, indian, chinese food to pastries and sweets!

When in Manchester I tend to avoid Market St. On this visit however I was unable to. Dirty, fast food outlets and full of litter - I won’t be hurrying back

This is my least favourite shopping street in Manchester. I try to avoid as extremely busy, always seems grubby and lots of beggars.

I did think that there was a good amount of shops and places to eat, it's a fab place to have as a meeting point and some days they have street food/stalls out.

Bleedin busy all the time and unless you really need to use this street DON'T. Full of plenty of homeless (no disrespect, just an unfortunate fact)/users/dodgy traders.

Whilst not the trendiest area it is very much at the centre of the city and has a plethora of shops. It also has a metro stop right there. There are also lots of fast food places and a couple of hotels close by.

Hi Jean-Marc, I don't know either. Knowing the council you probably do! Like David I suggest you use the city council website. Good luck Patchycat
