This station is lovely. In some ways historic but with modern facilities. Platforms easy to reach. Not as busy as Picadilly however a extensive coverage of destinations. The metro also stops inside the station. A pleasant station. Entrance though to Manchester arena.
Nice Victorian frontage with a new glass roof over the tram lines.
Serves lots of stations to North, East and West of Manchester plus Bury & Rochdate on tram.
Not many shops/eateries available but seems to be improving.
Free bus available outside for city centre...More
Arrived here with friends ready for a girly weekend, but couldn't believe the amount of people bustling around.
We spent 20mins trying to find our way out, but I don't think the Prosecco on the journey in helped.
All in all a great experience...
Easy to navigate, good variety of places to eat and shop. try Lola's cupcakes on the upper level for some tasty mini treats or shop at one of the many gift/novelty stores on site. Excellent place to pick up an express train to Gatwick!

I use this train station a lot and it's a good station. Plenty of staff on hand to offer a friendly service. Plenty of coffee/food outlets to use when waiting for a train. Lovely to see the station displaying poppies just prior to the exit.
Travelled to Liverpool from here, as it was within walking distance from my hotel - Travelodge Manchester Central. I loved to see the old features, but I did not think that it sat very well with the modern roof, which attached it to the Arena....More
