The Plaza is just next to a large Tesco and around the corner from other shops on the main busy road of Cheetamhill.

The plaza isn’t as big as I imagined. There are some shops outdoors and some indoors. The shops range from a costa and an islamic bookshop outside, to asian dresses, jewellery and bangles.

The prices are somewhat reasonable and the area is clean and not overly busy which was nice as it made it easy to shop.

My personal shopping experience was with the shop “Kirti Fashions” and the “Al Huda” islamic book shop.

Al Huda bookshop was lovely. Nice and clean with a range of islamic literature for all ages and islamic clothes etc. The staff are lovely and really welcoming and everthing is reasonably priced.

Kirti fashions (next door) has lovely asian dresses and jewellery.
The shop is lovely however my shopping experience here has left me feeling like I have to know everything about consumer rights before buying anything at any store.
The shopkeeper was nice, I bought an asian dress but once I got home, I realised the lady had given me a size different to the one I asked for.
I had no option but to return on a Friday to find the plaza is closed on Fridays. I returned again on the Saturday and the nice lady was now not so nice.

I explained the problem and she told me of this “no exchange no refund” policy. I explained she didn’t tell me this at the time of purchase nor did she give me a reciept to which she replied “you didn’t ask” !?
I told her I wanted to keep the dress and it was the size which is an issue due to her own mistake, but still she went on to tell me to find a tailor and have them adjust it at a further cost. I refused and she started to tell other customers in the store near me how ridiculous I am to not take it to a tailor. I refused to spend another £20/30 on adjustments after spending £70 already at a mistake of her own.

In the end she asked me to leave my number and she will have her husband call me the following day.
Next day, no call, or for the rest of the week for that matter.

I returned again this Sunday as her husband is apparently usually there on Sundays. Again, I met with this rude lady. Refused to give me a refund or exchange and then called her husband to the shop. She was so rude I was completely flabbergasted at her tone and attitude and her confidence of not needing to exchange let alone refund.

Her husband came, really understanding and reasonable, and was able to give me the size I needed. what took 3 trips to speak to this lady was sorted out in 3 and half mins with her husband. Looks like she just loves to use a power trip and assert her authority on others for fun.

As I was leaving she was complaining that the dress smells and is creased (it was sat in my car for 1.5 weeks so not sure what why she expected it to come back crease free and smelling of oud.)

Anyway. Know your consumer rights before you shop, especially at these asian shops in this area.

Just came to this establishment a few hours ago. I usually don’t give bad reviews or bad ratings to a business as you usually get a good day and a bad day by certain establishments. Anyways we were greeted by a young lady who told us that we would get our order within 10 minutes. So I asked her and she repeated twice that the food would be served within 10 minutes so we choose to sit in and eat. 5 then 10 then 15 minutes passed. After about 20 minutes I got a little impatient my blood sugar level was playing up being a diabetic and very politely I asked how much longer it would be as between that I was told just a couple of more minutes and then a few minutes later I was told again just a couple of more minutes. By this time I was watching the staff’s body language towards me as if they’d made a mistake as people who had ordered like 10 minutes after us were getting and had got they’re food before us. The young girl behind the counter who served us seemed to be having a good time with all the lads walking in and concentrating more on them than doing any work to push the orders out quicker and so were the young guys, who were talking amongst themselves and having a good time and not concentrating on they’re making the food. After 23 minutes when I thought I was about to collapse I asked the young lad who was wearing slippers without an apron on and looked like was flipping the burgers just because some one had unwillingly made him do something which he didn’t want to do. His eyes all of a sudden started to give me a sit down and you’ll get your food and stop standing and waiting near the counter. The other guy came and flipped the burger Pattie in-front of me. When I confronted them that why have they put the burger patties after like 25 minutes I got told that there were many orders before mine. What an utter lie .. people who walked in an had ordered 10-15 minutes after us were getting and had got they’re food before us. Because they were talking and having a good time they didn’t realise and missed my order. I got told because mine was a gourmet burger it takes time. Which he then made infront of me in 10 minutes. So in a total we were they’re for 35 minutes. I tried reasoning with the girl as to why she told me 10 minutes and it took an extra 25 more minutes. She said because it takes that long to make and that she didn’t want to argue with me because it is what it is. Anyways another guy comes and when I ask him first he tells me he’s the manager and then after a little heated debate he declares himself the owner. I asked him many questions and also asked him to question his staff and just the way you would see a rehearsal to keep the staff happy and try to brush the situation under the carpet and what he wanted to show me he tried and then what a person would do to keep an annoyed customer happy he did the complete opposite. He said that I should WhatsApp the shops number and he would give me the food free of charge when I would order again. I told him that I wasn’t telling him about my disappointment for the free food but because my blood sugar level was decreasing I needed to eat food quickly. To which the manager now known to me as Azeem or Azim took his arm out of his shirt and started showing me his arm showing me that he too is a diabetic and that I shouldn’t tell him what it is like to be a diabetic when ones sugar level goes down. He also said that I should’ve told his staff that before I ordered and if I needed to they would have given me some food or a drink in that case. I had just about had enough and told him that if he’s runing a Pepe brand like this then he should change the name as pepes other branches nationally are nothing compared to this clown runing this establishment. So he told me to leave at this point as when he couldn’t answer simple questions and showed him his other customers negative reviews online. I was showing him them so he could better his customer services and that what was exactly happening to me, at this point he told me to leave. I told him to concentrate on his staff if he wanted people to return which I would never in the future and would actually put people off this particular branch after my pathetic experience. My blood sugar levels had given in and I desperately needed sugar so tremblingly took my drink and gulped it down to get my sugar level sorted,at that point he may have realised.I left never to return as the manager would’nt want to listen and would cut me before I could reason with him. The place needs degreasing as you can feel the grease on the furniture and on nearly every place, even on the menu papers. The worst thing which I saw was a man in that same kitchen holding on to a toddler not more than 1 1/2-2 years old on his arm and just maybe a meter or a meter and half away from the grills and oils. No member was wearing any kind of protective aprons or gloves and the girl behind who was also in and out of the kitchen wasn’t wearing a net to cover her hair in case the hair would fall in the food and also the bearded guy in the back to who wasn’t wearing a net on his face to cover his beard. Hope that they can learn to respect they’re customers and not think that Pepe’s is the only place one can go and eat esp the pathetic Cheetham branch who doesn’t know how to respect they’re customers or how to listen to them with patience as the staff amd its owner is only right in this branch and not the customer. In the end when I sat in the car and tried eating my burger there was no Mayonnaise or sauce but just 2 very dry broken burger patties which I nearly choked on as it being so dry .. just shows the professionalism of they’re preparing the food .. The long negative comment is mot a dog at them but for them to better they’re customer skills and food. They should undertake that ‘Not’ everyone’s out for a free meal.

If this is a shopping centre, then you need you look at the one they knocked down now that was a shopping centre that catered for all communities and not just the one community like this one does now.

Absolutely nothing of interest for the public in this shopping centre. Whoever manages this and does the planning should be ashamed of themselves.

Cheetham Hill is a dump and full of dirty takeaways and this just adds to the walk of shame around there.

Lovely place with loads of different places to eat. The shops inside the small shopping centre are lovely and very specific. Highly recommend this place for asian clothes shopping.
