Had a lovely hour here in May. The museum is small but full of interesting items and history. Really good for kids. The staff are very knowledgeable. There is a little snack bar. You can also park around the back for free.

Due to the size of the two adjoined buildings and the upper floor café, I was there longer than expected. On foot you find the Millenium footbridge and press on along the River Lune. Original buildings carefully adapted to store boats up to 600 years...More

Chosen on a wet day, great little museum with plenty of parking. Really interesting displays with about 2 hours worth of viewing . Cafe really good value. Staff very helpful as we had mobility issues .

Walking through its almost unbelievable that Lancaster was such a busy port. There is so much to see and the staff are very helpful. i would visit again as it was so good.

More people especially locals need to explore this little gem.There is a nice mix of 'hands on' with the packet boat and stage coach also plenty of local and world history associated with the maritime history of the area. An excellent mix of media to...More

Had a great afternoon wandering around this little museum. The staff were lovely and friendly, and the exhibits easy to follow.

Friendly staff, some interesting exhibits. Lots of interesting information regarding Lancaster's shipping history including its involvement in the slave trade. Free parking at side of road about 100 yards down road next to river.

Took our 2grandchildren here aged 12 and 7. There was a craft day where they made plate aquariums , it was only £1 and well worth the money . The lady running it was very good and explained everything to them . The museum itself...More

Although it's only a small museum I found it really interesting. I loved the packet boat section and was intrigued by the PIGs which run along gas pipes. The film showing a brief history of the area was worth a watch. Well worth the £3...More
