took one of our granddaughter to the museum. great place to go and learn. they have an experiment to show how the earth rotates, and watching it makes to realise just how fast we travel around on our axis, but also how fast we travel through our milky way galaxy. what a fantastic place to go and learn, try it,... I stopped into the museum in hopes of stealing some WiFi, but I stayed there because it had some nice history about Lancashire and Preston. The art portion was small, but I remember there being A LOT of porcelain when I visited. They have a small cafe area and also some sort of computer lab.

I spent a very, pleasant two hours in this museum on a wet Saturday and what a revelation. Brilliant displays, particularly of the glass items and lots of interesting artefacts and pictures from over the ages. All extremely well presented.

A collection of varied and many important works of art which are really worth viewing. The museum floor has also been rearranged showing many local artifacts and the history of cotton in Preston. Many live events now happening, music, workshops and a maker space, much for children and a cafe.

The Harris is fast becoming one of my favourite places to encounter contemporary art in the North West of England! Over the last few years the quality of exhibitions has rocketed. It is well worth setting a day aside in order to fall in love with this unique gallery and museums.

This is a beautiful traditional looking building in the heart of Preston. The exhibits are interesting and apparently change quite often. They are well laid out and I was particularly interested in the history of Preston - the information was very good but the guide was unable to give me any additional facts - disappointing but overall well worth a... Always a delight to visit the Harris with changing exhibits which are explained on information cards. Pauline in the yellow dress is a gem. The history of Preston section with the model of Horrocks factory is very relevant and of interest. I see absolutely no need for modifications to be made to the front entrance.

Just re-visited the Harris, and can't say any more or less than I said 6 months ago. This place is an absolute delight to visit, with everything well set out and explained. Well worth an hour or two to explore and view in a peaceful, tranquil setting.

I had to write a review of this after going to today with my 7 year old son to do some research for a project he has to do for school, he needs to write about a city in England. He choose Preston as this is the city where his Dad and his family are from. So we went to... More

Nothing hugely exciting, but the large complex offers accessible art and old curios to discover and is worth spending an hour or two in. The building itself is magnificent with majestic staircases and dizzy interior views from on top with an Egyptian themed fresco at the very top. Yet another bit of heritage art and architecture I feel is rather... More
