I wasn't expecting to be blown away as I walked inside - big stone columns, a golden ceiling with carved boss stones of angel musicians; intricately carved chapels and tombs; painted ceilings and funny misericords. And a lovely walk in the meadow by the river.

The Abbey was beautiful. Easy to find. We tried to look around but there was a wedding on so we felt we could not intrude. Outside the Abbey there are church tea rooms and parking. We will have to return to look properly inside. The...More

so peaceful to walk around and was greeted by a lovely friendly lady with a guide leaflet,. we watched a short video about the Abbey which was very interesting. So beautiful inside and outside of Abbey .

Amazing architecture superb organ and bells, glass and ceiling paintings fantastic. Amazed that it costs £5 a minute to run but you want to see the heating system. Beautiful buildings and grounds
