Kevin’s daily walk and relax
Aug 2021 • Solo
Lovely gardens with plenty of beautiful plants and flowers plus an Avery and fish pond. There are many paths to follow to enjoy the wooded area behind the open garden area. Very relaxing and well worth a visit. With limited parking, going by foot might be preferable.

SO glad this has been open over lockdown! The house is shut, but it's such a peaceful beautiful garden, it's a lovely little escape.

CHESLYN HOUSE AND GARDENS
Apr 2021
A little gem in my home town of Watford , beautiful gardens open to the public within walking distance of the town centre or only a 5 minute drive . Easily spend an hour or 2 wondering around with the added delight of an aviary and a pond with fish .

Wonderful spring garden
Feb 2021
The gardeners at Cheslyn do a wonderful job in keeping the gardens in such good condition with lots to see all year around. At the end of February it is full of colour with the snowdrops still out, heather, cyclamens and hellebores (Christmas rose). The early daffodils and camellias are just starting. The highlight though are the drifts of crocus near the entrance and in the woodland. There are some more formal areas including a pond and flower beds and beyond is more natural woodland area. Do take a moment to see the birds coming and going to the feeder. Usual woodland birds - chaffinches, coal tit, great tit - but we were lucky to also see some Siskin. You can easily spend an afternoon here but to look around thoroughly takes about an hour. There are plenty of benches to sit on and relax (and a toilet for visitors to use).

Stunning

Absolutely wonderful. Thank you, Nick, our gardener for keeping Cheslyn Gardens so beautiful. My dog enjoys his walks here but must be on the lead. The woods, the gardens, the pond and the aviary are all wonderful.

Oasis of calm in Watford
Jun 2020
Beautiful garden in the middle of Nascot Wood Road. Such a relaxing place, perfect for short of long stroll or a dog walk. It has a bird sanctuary and a small pond with carp in it.

The secret garden
Jul 2020 • Friends
I have lived in the area for several years and never knew this little hidden gem existed until recently .
Tucked away in a quiet residential road .
Beautiful laid out and maintained miniature gardens open to the public .
Planted with lots of English garden favourites and with lots of benches in quiet corners to sit and enjoy the gardens , There is also a small aviary and a pond with large ornamental carp
The gardens also offer a small car park to the side .
A little gem tucked away and hidden in the hustle and bustle of town .

Lovely secret garden in Watford!
Aug 2020 • Friends
So pleased to have found this hidden gem of a garden, online last week. Free entry, it's such a wonderful and peaceful location, with so many different flowers and woodland plants to walk around and see. There's even a fish pond and a bird aviary! My mum and I went at 11am on Saturday August 1st, and managed to get a parking space in the very small car park (probably only fits about 8?). I spent an hour taking lots of brilliant photos in the glorious sunshine. A must see for garden lovers!

Was looking for a chilled place to come and relax and listen to the birds, Turned out i hadnt been here since 2012!!
there is a small car park - just after the sign to the house and gardens,

nice information boards around the gardens, plenty of benches, Small toilet (which is always a bonus!!)

there is a pond so be careful with small kids, but the massive fish are cool, there is an aviay there too,

spend about 2hrs here,

Good for a wander
Jul 2020 • Family
Pretty little garden to explore with an inquisitive youngster. Lots of twisty turny paths and left/right options. Aviary birds were fascinating and the pond had some colourful fish. Car park small and turning off the road very easy to miss. Cafe would be an added bonus
