Very small, very cramped. Nothing too see. Basically a posh back garden. No real attraction at all. Pointless

Tyland Barn is above all a Nature Reserve that has superb educational facilities with great opportunities for children to learn whilst having fun. Although this is a small reserve it has a moderately large free parking area and a small, but well used, children's playground. Children of all ages can wander freely around the grounds with no hear of getting... More

We went here on the 29/08/16 for a couple of hours with the dog and it was lovely. Firstly there's free parking!(bonus) it's basically a nice walk around a nature reserve with lots of information on how you can make different things for you garden. It also has a big pond and we saw huge beautiful dragon flies and butterflies... More

We booked a pond dipping session for our two grandsons aged 5 and 6. They both thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was well run and informative. We also enjoyed walking around the site, especially sitting in the bird hide watching the birds feed. We took a picnic lunch, and were pleased to find plenty of benches to use. There is... More

I took my two boys here today as a cheap/ free day out. Positives: friendly staff. One helped me by talking to my boys about of the creatures on a plaque trail; delicious food: I had a goats cheese quiche and salad that was topped off with redcurrants and rhubarb. beautiful nature: we went butterfly hunting and found loads; pond... Took my son with friends today, was a lovely little trip free parking free entry, little cafe for a coffee and gardens to walk around. We went and found the geocache in the grounds and took part in pond dipping which my son loved very informative and hands on. Before you walk round the grounds go in the barn and... More

We visited Tayland Barn on a sunday morning. There were no admission or car parking fees. Although small it had pond dipping, with plants, and trees named. Ideas for making safe areas for small insects to live in. The high light of our trip was to see the monitor in the gift shop, which showed a live picture feed from... More

If you enjoy walking around muddy fields and pond dipping, you will be in your element here. For the rest of us, not worth stopping for I am afraid

As the head quarters of Kent Wildlife Trust, this place has so much going on. The visitors centre, Tyland Barn, is a tremendous building housing the cafe, shop, art gallery and educational facilities. The grounds a variable feast of wildlife ponds, walks and so much more. As a regular visitor with my family never fails to entertain everyone. We are... More
