The room was tough enough for it to take 57+ minutes to crack it. Great facility, and brilliant staff to walk you through the rules, hints and clues. Would definitely recommend.Hello neil8873 Wow! Thank you for this glowing review, we really appreciate the feedback. Congratulations on your escape! - Susan SheenSurrey, United Kingdom58 contributionsTriple Trouble for the Dithering DuoIt was a spur-of-the-moment escape in Milton Keynes and we decided to play all three games in one afternoon. Having played over 50 escape rooms as a couple, we really liked these ones, even though a small number 4 got me confused for a while ;) Eloise, Gabby, Izzy, and Jess made it a day to remember and were brilliant hosts. If you are new to escaping, book a room and see how long it takes for you to want to play the rest. We are hooked. Thank you for a really fun afternoon.Hello susansheen, It was an absolute pleasure having the duo spending the day with us, we are so glad to see that you enjoyed the games! Congratulations on tackling three rooms in one day, that certainly is an amazing challenge to set. We also have it on very good authority that you did very well, cheeky numbers aside. ;) Eloise, Gabi, Izzy and Jess were all so pleased to have made your experience a memorable one. Having such a lovely recommendation means a lot to us and we hope very much to see you back in future. Thank you for playing! The room difficulty was a good level for us, it wasn’t too easy but was a good challenge and at one point we thought we weren’t going to do it. We did early session so everybody was in low mood. But once we have been briefed everybody was excited !Hi E7877LMinfo, Thank you for choosing Locked In A Room as your Team Building event! - Nichola H7 contributionsReally tricky but a lot of fun!We were hopeless! We went for the middle level thinking the easy would be too easy, although we found it really hard! We ran out of time but there was help at hand and we weren't too far off the mark in the end! It was a great challenge and we laughed a lot, but some of our more competitive team members were REALLY competitive! The build up was good, and the staff great, but the after part once you complete the room was a bit unfinished and could do with a bit more before you get on your way. It was a quick entry, quick briefing with the right amount of humour, a good amount of time in the room to crack the codes and really interesting. It tested my 11, 13 and 14 year old- they couldn't have done a room on their own. Definitely a predominantly adult game. It was fun though and the set up as you enter is well thought out. Would recommend for something a bit different if you're in the area.Hello hy20242024, Thank you for your review, we welcome all feedback and appreciate having such a balanced view of the experience. Our games can provide a variety of different challenges to all depending on how each individual thinks. We are glad to see that the team enjoyed themselves and had a wonderful experience with the staff and pre-event set up. We will take on board your feedback regarding the end of event, as we are always looking for ways to improve and showcase our immersion to higher heights. We would love to see your team back for another session, as we have a brand new and exciting experience awaiting you as well as some old favourites. - Alun4 contributionsMade it in the nick of timeMy first experience of an escape room and it was beyond anything I had expected. Four of us, my wife (1st experience), my daughter (2nd experience) and my granddaughter (3rd experience and so our "expert"). We took on the easiest room (Time Lock) but still it tested us to our limit. However the occasional hint or tip on the screen ensured that we never got stuck in one place. We got out with a minute and forty seconds remaining, perfect.Hello Dogmanag, Thank you for leaving us this lovely review, we're so glad we could make your first venture into the world of Escape rooms such a fabulous one! - Graham c9 contributionsWell organised, fun experienceBooked for Fri 23rd Feb. We arrived and waited outside, as per instructions. The lady who greeted us inside was friendly and organised. We then received a clear explanation of the ground rules. Once inside, the room was well planned with lots of puzzles to solve. The best bit was that, someone was clearly paying attention, monitoring, so that when we got stuck, we were given useful clues, so time wasn't wasted. Well run, fun experienceHi Graham c, We're so happy you enjoyed your game with us. Thank you for leaving us this lovely review, we really appreciate your wonderful feedback! Good starter room for ER novices as 3 of our party were. Only downside was that here they start every room at same time and the info given at start was a group chat to 30 people. Never had this before. Also we had nearly completed the room but needed a slight nudge in right direction. It took 7 minutes for the games master to respond!! So with all the rooms starting at same time obviously they don’t monitor them that closely. Disappointed in that.

Hi Svenigan68,
Thank you very much for your feedback, we always strive to improve our event and always want to enhance customer experience. We are glad you escaped and It sounds as though you were successful in the majority of the puzzles. When we see teams doing as well as you did, we do not wish to prematurely send a clue where you may get there without our assistance. We do say that if you are not receiving a clue that this is a good thing, however we appreciate the frustration when you are so close to doing so.
As we are a live immersive and may have up to 8 teams racing against the clock, The benefit of starting everyone together is that we can allow larger teams to play against each other and experience the event simultaneously.
Well done again on your escape and we hope to see you again soon.
All the best, the Locked in a Room Team

Visited on Saturday 3rd October to complete the room Parallax, having previously completed Timelock at the same location. There was three of us in the group and we have previously completed 3 as a group before.
I honestly can remember one ladies name (Skye) but both ladies and the chap were absolutely brilliant. Really good and very involved within the games.
The game itself was quite challenging and unfortunately one of our padlocks had jammed and we spent a long time trying to get it to open (was taken away and we have the clue given to us) - which was a shame, but not the fault of the team.
We had to have quite a few clues to get us through, but we did escape in the end! When we needed the clues, they were forthcoming but also gave us plenty of opportunity to solve it ourselves.
The only one downside to the rooms is that the walls were really thin, so the group next door to us, we could hear them solving some of the clues... Sometimes it was a curse (you could hear them celebrating that they had solved a clue when we were stuck!) And other times it made you feel better about yourself (we could hear that they were stuck on one of the clues we had already solved, so we knew we were slightly ahead of them!)
I would highly recommend this escape room, as a group you really need to work well together, it's quite a linear room, so if you are stuck on a clue you are stuck until you solve it, so chose your team mates well.
Hoping to go back soon!

Hello ClareGuyon,
Thank you for taking the time to send us such a detailed review, we are so glad that you chose to return to us in order to tackle Parallax, it sounds like the group certainly are quite the escape artists.
I have passed on your feedback to Skye, Tai and Jessica, who were your Games Masters for the evening, all of whom are so happy to have made the experience so enjoyable! 5* Customer Service is something our Team very much aim to provide, and it is quite lovely to hear such kind feedback.
Parallax is our medium level room, making it quite the challenge to defeat as it is. My deepest apologies for the misbehaviour of the padlock in question, unfortunately technical glitches can sometimes make an already difficult task seem impossible. I am glad to hear that the team rectified this issue as soon as it was caught and we hope to avoid any similar incidents in the future. I so am very happy that even in spite of this, you have still awarded us with a wonderful 5* review. It is very clear that even with a slight hitch, your team has proven unstoppable! Triumphing over yet another room with only a little help from us. (No need for modesty, I am told you did fantastically.)
As for the echo of voices from the other teams, we try our best to keep noise levels down, however it seems that excitement can often take over as the minutes tick by. It does seem that the intensity of the game had taken hold for your competitors, which can too easily happen. Perhaps there is comfort to be had in knowing they too were under the pressure to find Pottenger.
Thank you once again for your review. Your final challenge, Invisibility Gene, still awaits.
Kind Regards,
The Locked In A Room Team.

This was our second visit to Locked In A Room (in Milton Keynes) and it was as enjoyable as the first.
I treated my brother and my two nephews to the Parallax room and we managed to make it out with ~10mins to spare! We were surprised by this as we seem to have a collective brain freeze midway through!
As a result of this triumph. A whole 6 minute improvement on our original visit, we have booked the hardest of the current three rooms for later in January.
If you like solving puzzles then don’t think twice about booking a room at only £20 per person.
Enjoy.

Hello Gretas_Carer
Thank you for your review. Well done on escaping with so much time left, it is rare that we have teams escape with over ten minutes left. If you can escape with a time like that despite a brain freeze I think you will do well when you tackle our hardest room, and it seems you are doing better the harder the room gets.
Kind Regards,

I came here for something different to do with my family at the weekend. Phew, escaped with just 3 minutes left and avoided the ‘lock in’
1 hour of fun entertainment well recommended.
We withdrew afterwards to the nearby ‘slug and lettuce’ as was, to compare notes on a brilliant experience. Everybody felt engaged and feeling as though they had played their part. Something to do for everyone. Thorough look enjoyed by all and another number of ‘escapes’ to try.
We will be back. Thanks.

Really enjoyed our hour trying to escape from Locked In A Room! The setting and scene were really imaginative and exciting and the clues were so, so clever. We had so much fun trying to crack the codes and such a rewarding feeling when you find another key!! We definitely needed the prompts that appeared on the screen at intervals when we were struggling but we did manage to get out (although the staff kindly allowed us a few extra minutes over and above the hour as we were so very close!) I would definitely highly recommend Locked In A Room, compared to other activities and considering the content, I feel it is good value. Only criticism is that it was very warm in the room so if we go again (which we will) we will leave the jumpers at home!!

Thank you for the feedback on cost as we do believe our event and full experience offers a valuable experience.
I apologise if it was too warm in your room, we aim to keep the temperature at a manageable temperature, I will make sure this is fedback to our team, so we can make sure this is improved in the future.
We look forward to welcoming you back for another challenge.

Absolutely Brilliant!
We booked Locked in a room for a work team building event. It was last minute, I rang up the day before we needed it and they couldn't do enough to accommodate for us! They managed to fit us in the following day, 17 people, 3 teams taking on 3 identical escape rooms. The experience from start to finish was fantastic, highly recommended. Thank you Locked in a room Milton Keynes, we most definitely will be back!

You'll enjoy locked in a room if you like team games and you can work with others to solve puzzles. I don't think we were particularly brainy but we smashed through the clues and escaped in 26 minutes! We enjoyed the experience but I did feel a little bit cheated as we'd paid £100 for 2 teens and 2 adults to play which seems expensive for such a short activity. We'd managed to miss a whole section out of the story and still managed to solve the puzzles. Apparently, Parallax was the second hardest room. It's difficult to judge value for money when the experience is really down to your group's skillset. Overall, I would still recommend it as an activity. Our guide for the event, Chris, was funny and entertaining and added to the experience.

Hello K742DPdebbiej,
Thank you for leaving us this well-informed review, we are glad that Chris was able to create such a wonderful and lasting impact and I have made certain to pass on your feedback to him as a host. Well done on your brilliantly executed escape, the subjectivity of the challenges themselves mean that upon occasion the statistical escape for each room can vary depending on the mindset that the team playing presents, thus, having 26 minutes left is no small accomplishment! Brilliant work team!
Thank you once again for your recommendation.
Kind Regards,
The Locked In A Room Team.

'Infinity' is one of a storyline of games in one of the uk's biggest escape venues - where a huge advantage for corporate events or parties is that many groups can do battle with the same game.
The set and plot are immersive from the moment you venture 'upstairs' and the gamesmastering is definitely rabble rousing. Also you don't need to do the other rooms to enjoy each individual chapter - we did one of the other rooms a long time ago.
While the puzzles were varied they were largely to get lock codes, and the game was linear...but I know that suits some tastes.
The photo op at the end is definitely a fun bonus.
We escaped with just over 20 mins to spare

Hi AudreySanderson
Thank you for your feedback and congratulations on such a great escape time!
It is very important to us that our games are accessible to people from all backgrounds, expert escape artists or those brand new to the world of escape rooms are all welcome. Infinity is the newest room with the highest difficulty level. Parallax and Timelock have been with us a bit longer and are our medium levels.
We look forward to your next game with us.

After a really poor experience with another Escape Room in town this recovered our bad moods and we left Milton Keynes on a high. Was recommended to play this location and the how flew past we were slow to start with once we got going it was great. Covid-19 care had been taken and we did appreciate the efforts of the staff. Thank you.

Never done one of these before, but I do know that a compass is supposed to work without having to put it on the floor!
The intro was fun and interesting, but then had no bearing on the actual room - don't ask me to find out 3 things if it's not going to come up again, it was very confusing.
Most of the puzzles had no link together or logic I could identify - in particular why give us a blacklight AND then switch one on (in the room where the light was permanently on).
Given how obtuse most of the puzzles were, we were getting frequent hints - which upset the more hardcore members of my group as they felt it was cheating. Then the screen giving the hints broke and we were stuck for some time as a clue was stuck in a container something else fell out of.
To fix this, the GM came in and gave us the answer. Twice.
I was unaware that shouting the answer at us was part of the fun too.
Hopefully not all escape rooms are like this, they sounded fun

Hi Nav3112,
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, we always appreciate all feedback both on the good side and the bad!
We're truly sorry this didn't live up to your expectations, especially being your first time. I've looked into your booking and we run the room that you played over 5 of our branches in the UK, which always receive great reviews from new players to seasoned escapers. We can assure you that not only is there a full storyline, but this storyline continues over our other 2 rooms in our Milton Keynes venue to create what we call "Pottenger's Trilogy".
We obviously apologise for the excessive clues, the last thing we want as a venue is for a team to feel guided through the rooms unnecessarily, it benefits no one. Obviously every group is different and you are more than welcome to request no more clues, to which your games master watching overhead would have happily obliged.
Escape rooms are like movies, there's a world of different genres and styles to enjoy so please don't be disheartened if your first didn't click. Whether it's with us or with someone else, they truly are fantastic fun and do hope you try one again in the future.
Once again, we really are sorry that you didn't have a good time with us and hope you can appreciate this is the opposite of what we aim to provide. We will be investigating this further.
Kind regards,
Oliver

How long is the experience from start to finish? Looking to book a dinner reservation after locked in a room. Thankyou!

Hi Elizabeth!
The actual game itself is 60 minutes long however with an intro and debrief either side we would advise just over 90 minutes for the full experience.
We look forward to locking you up!

What is the minimum amount of people needed?
Written 10 September 2019
Hi RobertoSolo,
We accept teams of two however it’s quite tricky so we recommend 3 minimum. If you think you’re up to the challenge with 2 though you’re more than welcome! Our online booking system and office will also advise of this.
We look forward to locking you up!

We are looking to book for 9 people for a leaving party at work. Could we stay together
Written 9 February 2019
Hello, Thanks for your question.
As we have a maximum room capacity of 6, you would need to book 2 rooms and could split the group into a team od 4 and 5 for a thrilling head to head game, So although you will not be in the same room for the hour of the game, you will be able to share your successes and frustrations long after the game is over. I hope this helps.

Hi. Sorry for the delay in reply. As I’m aware the largest room is for 6. If you phone then they’re very helpful.

do you have any rooms for 2 people?
Written 17 April 2018
Hello!
Both of our games are suitable! Timelock has a 50% escape rate and Invisibility Gene has a 40% escape rate. If this is your first time playing an escape I'd recommend going for Timelock. Our games were designed in mind for groups of 3 or more players but we've had lots of groups of 2 people go through and some have been successful! Hope this helps!
Thanks,
Alice

Hi, there are 6 of us wishing to play. It looks like we will be allocated 2 rooms. Does this mean we will be split in two groups rather than one to play? Or have I misunderstood this info on your booking page? Thanks:)

Hi Helen,
6 players will be allocated 1 room. The maximum capacity per room for all three of our games is 6 people. Hope this helps!
Thanks,
Alice

Hi Chloe,
Thank you for your question!
We recommend that players are aged 8 and over to fully enjoy the Locked In A Room experience. It may be worth mentioning that under 14's have to be supervised by an adult aged 18+ inside of the room throughout the duration of the game. Hope this helps!
Many thanks,
Alice

Hi Kathie M
Our venue in Milton Keynes is wheelchair accessible, and out of our three games that you can choose to play, Invisibility Gene and Parallax are both fully accessible for wheelchair users.
If you wish to play our Time Lock game we would advise ringing our bookings team who can notify the venue manager and receive advice for specific booking requirements.
All the best!
